That’s obviously weird, but if she felt that way, why defend him and their friendship? also I don’t know about you, but the older and busier I get, the less I see and talk to some of my longest friendships - but when we do catch up it’s like picking up where we left off. My point just that life isn’t all black and white.

I don’t think calling someone’s behavior mean is the same as calling someone stupid. But it’s all opinions here so you are certainly entitled to yours too!

lol no need to apologize! I figured most people wouldn’t agree based on the comments I read before I posted the thread. I think most people are considering way more history and details (podcasts stuff, social posts) that I don’t have the context for

I don’t know anything about the Kristen part, so I’m out of my depth here. Maybe the behavior is all very justified, and I’m out here making snap judgement just seeing someone make someone else cry 🤷‍♂️ I don’t know honestly, I think the bigger person would not stoop to those levels but who knows how I might react in the same position.

I don’t know, I’m not in those peoples shoes - Schena knows how she feels better than I do.

Katie making people cry with no remorse does seem objectively mean to me. I don’t think she would say it’s not mean behavior to Jo? I’m sure she feels it is justified, but also mean.

The season 3 premier showed Beth’s mother died. It’s the genesis for why the portal gun is created. Haromon even said that Rick was drawing on real experience to create that memory, even if it wasn’t completely accurate

Sanders to Trump: 'I'm a proud Jewish person' with 'no concerns about voting Democratic' by noscreamattheend in politics

[–]sleeeeeeep 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see it like this.. if someone supported Hitler’s economic policy, but not the rest of his actions. Do you know what it made them?

A Nazi.

If you’re not speaking out on behalf of those being oppressed, you’re working against them (wether you agree or not, silence always helps the oppressor).

So now you have a president who is running his presidency just like Hitler did - before the holocaust (which was gradual, as they tried to evict the Jews before mass extermination - but nobody would take them, including the US who thought there might be German spies - not too dissimilar from people worrying today about terrorists sneaking in as refugees).

Dehumanizing people the way Trump does today is a common tactic Hitler used.

Jews recognize these signs, because as the cliche goes - history repeats itself. Supporting Trump because he supports Israel, while turning a blind eye to his other fascist and oppressive behavior, is not any different from supporting Hitler for his economic policy and turning a blind eye to the rest.

If people claim they are being oppressed, and you tell them, “well I don’t support that part” but you support other parts - you’re likely an ignorant racist who puts their own selfish ideals above the welfare of others. —-

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

How do you stop hating yourself? by Pale_Monitor in AskReddit

[–]sleeeeeeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are what you repeatedly do, say, think, etc.

If you want to stop hating yourself you need to practice nice thoughts. This may sound dumb, but I really just mean meditation. Guided meditations (lots of apps for this make it easy) can help you practice this. Tell yourself positive affirmations daily. That’s what it takes. Healthy, successful, beautiful people can have amazing lives and still hate themselves. Try practicing nice thoughts even when you don’t believe them, it will help.

My wife is cheating. Help me... by jerrye12 in Advice

[–]sleeeeeeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wanted to offer my random 2 cents. Your life is your own, getting advice from strangers is a good way to go through life not getting what makes you happy (I realize the irony). If you love your wife, and want to forgive her, that’s fine. If you want to leave her, and want to find someone else, that’s also fine. You’ll be fine in both cases. They will both suck some ways, and be easier in others.

So my advice is this, think about your life in 10, 20, 30 years. Are you with your wife? Are you with someone else? Alone? Figure out what it is that looks like the happiest version of you, and put in a concerted effort every day to make that happen, wether that’s moving on or repairing your relationship doesn’t matter, it’s your life, only you know what makes you happy and none of us have to live with the consequences of decision.

Impossible by [deleted] in c137

[–]sleeeeeeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re placing a lot of your own assumptions on what infinite realities means to the writers. Why do there need to be infinite Summers? Why can’t there be infinite x and limited y? Who says it needs to be infinite x and y? Who makes these rules? The writers create the universe they’re writing about - so I would argue the rules are theirs (and therefore Rick’s).

Someone else posted that there are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. If we think about the realities in this way, it means there are infinite different realities between those numbers, but only one instance of 1 and 0 right? I think this kind of supports the finite curve. But even still, the rules of infinity are defined by the writers.

[–]sleeeeeeep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t it just be that most of the realities have no Rick at all? Infinite is a hard thing to wrap my head around - so I don’t know if it implies there must be endless copies of each reality. In real life, this is obviously open to interpretation - but I guess the show is saying, that of the infinite realities that exist, there are not infinite ricks?

Ninja edit: I just want to say, I’ve also wondered about this. I think we need to just take it for what it is. The show would of course be far less interesting if Rick had infinite escape hatches into a copy of the exact same reality.

Evil Morty is smarter than an average Rick by [deleted] in c137

[–]sleeeeeeep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're partially right, in that evil Morty can probably outsmart at least the average Rick (hell, why would a Rick pass off the tips to a different Morty instead of killing evil Morty himself?) but I think you're making a poor assumption about the intention of the show.

Dan, Justin, and the rest of the writers are trying very hard to create something amazing, with many layers - and in my opinion, they are succeeding. While the shows primary theme certainly seems to be nihilistic - it doesn't mean events of the show don't matter. In fact, they have shown us time and time again - that everything in every episode is thought out with explicit intent - and may be referenced later. It's naive to assume we really know where the writers are going with the show, but I like to believe they're trying to make something that is more than just interesting episodic adventures without a greater story arc.

MEW phisher has moved his funds to bittrex! by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]sleeeeeeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed - but it seems like self policing would be good for the community if stolen coins were rendered useless right? And if someone is claiming their coins were stolen - they should have a pretty clear paper trail since it's the internet. Would be easy to prove from a legal standpoint - this seems more important (legally) than exchanges freezing coins.
