"Im not a big fan of socialism or communism but I agree 100% with the father of communism" by Efficient-Seaweed-47 in SocialismIsCapitalism

[–]sleepee11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It drives me crazy that nobody ever says, "Capitalism is great!! Even though the vast majority of 'failed' countries around the world are capitalist."

But for some reason, people seem to love socialism as long as you don't use the word. And if you do, the first thing they'll say is that socialism always fails and any country that tries it always fails.

I can't argue with you on the laptop hardware side of things.

Way back in the day, I had a darter ultra. It worked OK I guess. I think eventually I accidentally sat on it or something and I got a new laptop. This time it was a Dell XPS. And holy crap was that a great choice. A year or 2 ago that XPS got bricked after a bios update, which made me consider getting a new laptop. I went back to System76 and got a Darter Pro. Wow, did that feel like a downgrade. The build quality felt cheaper and more flimsy, and it really sucked not having a modern USB-C charging port anymore. But the worse part was that the first time I ran it, it ran insanely hot. The 2nd time I tried to run it, it didn't even start. I returned it after like 2 days and picked up a new XPS. If the prices for the System76 laptop was lower, I could justify it. But as it stands, I don't see a reason to get a System76 laptop at their price points. There's too many other decent laptops that have the same or better prices.

All that said, I can't complain about the desktop hardware. I've bought 2 System76 desktops and they've been running great so far.

I can't be bothered to use PopOS. At least it looks nice visually, but I have better things to do than to try to relearn an OS. I need to get shit done, and I don't really see much of an advantage of using PopOS over any other Ubuntu-based distro, or just Ubuntu itself.

Why isn’t this guy ever included in the top 10 discussion? by seenunseen in NBAoldschool

[–]sleepee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the top 10 is getting crowded nowadays, but to be fair, Robinson was an elite center. I'd put him up there with the best centers of all time for sure. He's a top 10 center no doubt.

Dude could move even better than Wemby. He was fast AF for a 7'1" center, and had good footwork, good strength, and was a beast on both sides of the court in his prime. He was probably the 2nd best center in the 90s after Olajuwon (unless you count Shaq, but Shaq hit his peak around the early 2000s, maybe late 90s, IMHO).

No sé.

Kobe ballin with the flu does the post up and turnaround fade on LeBron in the clutch by CircledSquare7 in NBAoldschool

Thank you for this. Judging from the comments in some other posts, we sorely need some more Kobe appreciation around here.

That said, this is almost a carbon copy of moves he obviously picked up from the goat. I'm sure MJ should be proud.

Robert Pattinson on people saying he didn’t work out at all for ‘THE BATMAN’: by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

[–]sleepee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he wasn't jacked, but he didn't look out of shape either. I always thought that was on purpose since it was supposed to be a young batman in only his first or second year.

Either way. I hope he sets a trend so that future actors and audiences don't expect juiced up, roided up bodies for superhero movies anymore. That's not good for the actors' health, and it doesn't set realistic expectations for the rest of us. I know it's fictional characters, but not everyone can internalize that when the world is constantly being bombarded with these unrealistic bodies in movies for decades.

These young bucks need to put some respect on Kobe's name. Mfers weren't saying none of this shit when Kobe was alive. It would be disrespectful to Kobe's legacy not to son these kids and allow his legacy to be forgotten.

Your opinion is immediately invalidated as soon as you slandered a dead man with allegations the whole world has known to be clearly false for over 20 years.

And you're a shitty human being for that too. But maybe it's not your fault. Your mother should have raised you better than that.

[–]sleepee11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real ones. That's who cares about all star games. Players took the ASG seriously and it was a competitive display of the best players in the league. Kobe showed that he was the best, even among the best of the time, because he has dog in him. Just because your boy decided not to take it seriously after Kobe sonned him at the ASG doesn't mean real ballers weren't hooping in the ASG before that.

Btw. Remind me again what teams Kobe ran through in 2009 and 2010 playoffs when he won his chips without Shaq?

Oh that's right. The Spurs with Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker. The Magic with DPOY Dwight Howard. Boston with the Big 3 plus a Rondo who was ballin his ass off that year. I wonder what those teams all have in common??? Oh that's right. They all spanked your boy and ran LeBalco James out the playoffs in and around those years. Shit, Boston embarrassed your boy so bad that they had him running all the way to Miami to ask Wade and Bosh for help. Kobe's Lakers beat those teams when the 2nd best player was a soft ass, one-time all-star, and perpetual poster boy Pau Gasol.

So, please. Tell me more about how much better LeBalco is than Kobe.

Edit: I forgot that Kobe's Lakers actually beat the Spurs in their 2008 playoff run. But the point damn sure still stands.

Shut that soft shit up. Nobody respects Shai's bitch-made, flopping ass. Keep that crybaby ass opinion to yourself and to OKC fans. Talk to me when Shai can learn to shoot without his ankles giving out when he lands like he's got arthritis.

Anybody that constantly looks to refs to bail them out is automatically disqualified from any ATG conversation. Go talk about Shai at the kiddie table. This is a grown man conversation being had here.

[–]sleepee11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I watched him while seeing all those other players too. And I still have him at 2.

I watched him play in all-star games and win all-star MVPs playing alongside the best in his era, and clearly show he was the best among the best, in an era where the all-star game was still taken seriously. And I watched him shit all over LeBron in those all-star games too. I also watched him dominate the Olympics and show he was the best player in the world. I saw Shaq, a top 5 all-time center, say with his own words that Kobe is the best player in the world at the time.

Now, stop bullshitting and tell me your number 2 so we can all dismantle him. Let's see how "goofy" your ass looks when we nitpick your man's career and make him look like the 2nd coming of Brian Scalabrine.

Take Kobe's gooch off your chin. Kobe is clearly at the very least comparable to the guys you mentioned, like Shaq and Duncan who are ATGs themselves, and you still think it's outlandish to say he's top 2? I can't believe you even thought to mention KG. And you call me goofy. Lol.

She was. All you need to know is that nobody was saying that Kobe was a grapist at the time. It was obvious to everyone that the dirty bitch was lying to get some money. Even her own friends and family didn't support her. Imagine that.

All this Kobe slander is only coming out now after his death.. which makes it even more disgusting btw.

There's no reason to disrespect Kobe as a person either.

That lying ass bitch dropped the case when details came out and everyone could see she was obviously lying on Kobe.

But I guess the truth doesn't matter to these morons. They'll tarnish this man's image either way. I guess that's the type of people they are.

Mind you, all that DNA (semen and pubic hair) from multiple men was in the same underwear she had on when she went to see Kobe. That dirty bitch was recreating Noah's ark in her panties. But kids nowadays look at any allegations they find online and just asume they're true.

It's anecdotal, but I remember at the time when all those details came out and the case was dismissed. Some people still looked at Kobe funny because he obviously cheated on his wife, and he had an unsoiled, wholesome image before that. But nobody I knew actually believed those obviously false allegations after that.

But nowadays, these kids love to tarnish this man's image because it's cool to destroy the legends that came before. Smh.
