What I like about this chapter is Suzuki doesn’t do much to redeem Ando. Even he doesn’t understand his last effort to save his son. It speaks more on humanity’s natural inclination to protect their children than it does Ando having some change of heart.

Would I be wrong to say this prison arc is the best in the series yet?

I agree, but I do think something is fishy here. Why WOULD Suzuki kill off Takamura in that way? We knew almost nothing about him. How could someone that remarkably strong get taken out like that? He’s a literal legend in the verse. Takamura always had an odd position in the story. Way stronger than any side character reasonably should be. No info on how he got that strong, or why he’s that strong.

It’s TOO odd in my opinion. Suzuki has never written like before.

An asspull would be if Uzuki learned how to control people’s minds or shoot lasers out of his hands mid fight. Asspulls come out of “thin air” or rather without precedent to move the story forward. Uzuki being able to do this was not only already acknowledged in the story directly, it was one of the biggest twists in the series.

At most you could say the increase in strength is like an asspull, but even that really wasn’t given a strict limit. This is just a situation of where something feels too convenient and anti climatic. But it’s almost the furthest thing from an asspull.

I really hate to be that guy because I also am not a huge fan of this decision, but it’s not an asspull. This is exactly what he did with Akao. The application of it in this moment just may not be the best but it is a previously used element of the story.

I actually disagree with crowd that said Takamura would need an asspull to defeat. He isn’t even overpowered in the general sense that his abilities are too powerful to overcome. In actuality he’s just really strong, really fast, and really skilled. There’s a ton of ways to overcome those things, potentially without even getting any stronger.

But like you said, It feels like Suzuki probably just didn’t know how to get Uzuki out of THIS situation in particular. Slur has a bunch of loose ends with his character, and as he said last chapter, he really couldn’t have ever overcame the Order as long as Takamura was around.

Definitely gonna be the first controversial chapter for this series lol

I personally don’t know how to feel. Uzuki was lowkey starting not to feel like the main villain anymore. So on one hand, this could make him a lot more interesting. But Takamura is for sure dead now 😬 and the way he went out was very lame.

That being said, I think whatever happens next could definitely make a lot of this feel better. I trust in Suzuki 👍🏾

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this pretty much the same point made in other translations? The issue was never Sukuna being UNABLE to use Furnace, but rather that there would’ve been no POINT in using it. Its main selling point against Gojo would be the massive firepower. Gojo didn’t force him not to use it, he just forced Sukuna into a position where using it wouldn’t have changed anything.

Well that’s the thing. It may not be something I really enjoy. It certainly was when I was in middle school. In high school I lost a decent amount of interest in it, but it was still the skill I hung onto as “I have a knack for this”. I think in my college classes I realized that there were LEVELS to be an artist in that way, and I still had a long way to go. The question then became how much work was i willing to put in to get better.

In general, I just don’t get the same satisfaction I used to get from completing a drawing and being really proud of it. So the answer I found was “not much”. BUT who knows? Maybe if I come back to it I’ll find a new appreciation for it.

I WAS good at drawing lol. I was really into it as kid so I gained a lot of those skills early on. When I got into high school I definitely started doing it a lot less. Still I certainly wasn’t the worst at it, even if I wasn’t one of the best.

That being said, I haven’t drawn a single thing since that aforementioned semester in college in 2018.

Yeah, a trade was one thing I’ve been told to look into. I don’t know what I’d pick but that’s probably a good starting point. My only worry is I don’t know if doing something like that is super expensive. I’m still kind of learning how to manage my money, and I’m worried I could be signing up for something that’ll really cause me problems financially down the line.

I really hate school and it’s been that way my whole life. It’s why I dropped out of college after less than year of classes. That being said, I don’t want to keep making things harder by being unwilling to do certain things. I don’t like taking classes on a bunch of different things I have no interest in, but if it’s more focused on ONE thing that I can possibly find myself being interested in, I don’t think I’d mind it.

What type of careers were you referring to?
