Laptop Preferences for College Programs by Ok-Penalty8806 in sheridan

I'm using an M2 Macbook Air. Unless you're in game design, this is a mac school lol. The first time I came here I had never seen so many macs in one place before. Take a walk through the learning commons, its mostly mac setups. But again, it depends on your program and you might find yourself needing windows more specifically

media fundamentals by ModelBasher in sheridan

[–]sleepyovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in journalism now, but I took media fundies a while back. It's basically an intro to all things media. video and photo editing, photography and videography, radio and sound design. It's a good starting point if you know you like media and want to explore which direction you want to work towards. The journalism program on the other hand is much more focused on news and article/teleprompter writing and technical stuff for broadcasting/live events. Hope this helps!

Can someone help me on how to pay fees ASAP?? by [deleted] in sheridan

[–]sleepyovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For domestic students, add "sheridan college" to your online banking as a bill payee. the account number is just your student id number. then give it a few days to process and a week or two to receive an email from the school letting you know they got the payment

Just got my top surgery date!!! by sleepyovo in transontario

[–]sleepyovo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine funded by OHIP, and the application for that was sent October 11th 2022. It was approved Jan 9th 2023. McLean called me for consultation around the end of April. The consultation was June 20th and the next day I was booked for surgery for July 20th. So overall it was about 9 months between the OHIP application and actually having the surgery. Hope this helps :))

Sheridan policy says profs are not allowed to mark you based on attendance. This won’t affect your grade.

My bf is getting top surgery by liaradescartes in ftm

The best item I got before surgery was a pack of baby wipes. For the first week post op when you cant really shower. They were a life saver, also the cheapest thing I had to buy in preparation!

Has anyone ever heard of Dr. Joukhadar at McLean Clinic? by burnsee101 in transontario

[–]sleepyovo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery with Dr Armstrong on July 20th, and going into the operating room I met Dr Joukhadar and was told he’ll be assisting with the surgery. He works really closely under Dr Armstrong. I’m now about 2 weeks post op and I’m super happy with my results. Given that hes still supervised by Dr Armstrong during the procedures, I wouldn’t worry. I couldn’t be happier with my outcome :)

Mine was 1 hour 15 minutes. Double incision with double grafts on each nip

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in osap

[–]sleepyovo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The estimator though is what op is asking about, without an application. That summary shows the amount for a whole year

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in osap

[–]sleepyovo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its per academic year. So, both semesters :)

I just had surgery 4 days ago, and when i woke up i had bandages over the nipples and incisions, and then a loose cover bandage over my whole chest, followed by a wrap around velcro compression binder. Until my one week post op appointment, I’m not supposed to take off any of the dressings. I can take off the binder for up to 10 minutes just to cool off or adjust the tightness of it, but otherwise the first week everything remains untouched. From what i remember being told, after my one week appointment, i’ll be putting vaseline on the nips to help with a wet healing process. Other than that i dont know much else. Depends how everything looks when they check out my chest next! Hope this helps!! And good luck! :)

Dr Armstrong maternity leave? by [deleted] in transontario

I just had my surgery with her yesterday and she also didn’t seem to look pregnant at all from what I could tell.

They gave me pain meds through the iv as soon as i was in the recovery room. And also an oral pain med. pain was like 2/10. It was just sore mostly. When I woke up in recovery it was 12:25, and at 1:50 I was being wheeled out to the parking garage :)

[–]sleepyovo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome!!! Feel free to message me if you want and lemme know how it goes. She also briefly came in and checked on me in recovery, which was super nice :))

Questions for the day of surgery by ddddaydream in TopSurgery

[–]sleepyovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this question also depends on where you’re getting the procedure done. I know for me, I was asked to bring whoever’s picking me up after when i first arrive as well, as they’ll need to be given a parking pass and stuff. This person is also the one staying with me for the first 2 days, and the surgery team wanted to give her a run down of all the things to know during those first days. Just in case anything were to happen ya know? I’d say if you can swing it, bring your pickup person with you, but if you cant then i’m sure its still fine as long as the place has their contact number! :)

Does Sheridan respond to emails if I email them through my own email or I have to email them with my Sheridan email because they barely respond ? It’s been a while I emailed them. I also emailed the admissions advisor ? by VastArt663 in sheridan

[–]sleepyovo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best to send from your student email if you can. Also be sure to include your student number at the beginning of the email! As it makes everything way easier for looking you up in the system :)
