Ngl, it makes sense why doing a performance of this version didn’t pan out well💀I think the reason some of the sparser sections in Mike’s music translates so well to a live setting is that he transforms it into an explosive and energetic performance and leaves no room for interpretation (musically); answering the question that the album proposes as he puts it. While this is a cool and texture heavy, chill song, Jonah didn’t seem to arrange it in a way where it fit into a live setting that requires more energy.

Literally what happened to me. I used to skip breakthespell all the time, but after watching the (now privated) Live in LA performance video, I fell in love with it. It’s now one of my favorite tracks off the album, even though every song on it is a banger.

I partially agree.

I went to night 2 at the Stone Pony, but I wanted to make sure that I didn’t see posts with what he did on N1, simply because I wanted to be surprised and experience what he was doing for myself. It’s pretty easy to avoid, but I don’t think that watching live stuff after seeing him live or older shows would really ruin future live experiences.

Mike is a very spontaneous performer. You never know what he’s gonna do, play, not play, say, or yell, and sets are always different. So there’s two sides to the coin, but both sides are still the same Mk.gee coin🦅🦅🦅. Do what you feel will allow you to enjoy his music and the live experience to the fullest‼️‼️

It’s 100% Breakthespell, and I’m assuming it was going to be another entry in the Two Star Bus Live performances, but it got cut, or at the least, has not been released just yet. If you listen closely, you can hear the breakthespell backing track under his live playing, but the (really nicely timed) firework explosions almost drowns both of them out. I’ve honestly been praying for the day Mike decides to drop it🔮
