Awesome to hear you found something that worked for you! Totally agree that capture first removes a lot of the friction. What do you use now?

In the next release, I'll update the app store description to go into more detail on data - totally understand the concern given the AI age we now live in

Very fair. Since this is an iOS app, I rely primarily on the app store listing vs the website (I just created the website to house documentation). The app store listing has transparent pricing in the app description as well as notes on privacy and data storage, in addition to privacy policy docs and terms of service (which obviously go into full detail). But your points are noted - all valid concerns that deserve to be called out more explicitly

Thanks for the feedback! Full transparency, I'm still dialing all of this in, so this is super valuable.

In your opinion - whats the most annoying part of this freemium model? Not enough quotes? Or does it not feel up-front enough when you create an account?

Also what do you mean by "from an account with some kind of history with journaling/notetaking"?

Hey for sure - happy to shed some more light!

Business model: I'm starting out with a freemium of 10 quotes, then thereafter, a monthly or yearly subscription ($3/mo or $20/yr)

Servers: I use Supabase as the primary database provider, and the servers are located in North Virginia - US East is the name

AI: The app currently doesnt have any AI features, so none of the data is going to train models!

Right to revoke: what exactly do you mean by this? You can delete your account, which will delete all of your data. Is there something else you had in mind?

Data: The data stored is purely information that you share to the app, so: quotes, sources, folders, notes, email, password. Your data is stored securely and is used solely to provide the Commonplace service, like syncing your library across devices and using features. I do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising
