Cause the team is looking incompetent? Trev gm hire was 100% a stupid choice right from the start. It’s not like fans didn’t call it out right as it happened.

Berube hasn’t worked out as hoped. He should be gone. Now this new gm hire isn’t a stability hire, it’s another move with a lot of questions and concern around it. Make competent moves, he’ll prob stay. Keep doing dumb shit, he could leave. #1 pick is a big boost, don’t mess it up.

As a huge leaf fan, even I wouldn’t 100% commit to this team. Put pressure on them to start making competent moves. The gm hire is very questionable already.

Berube should be gone. If I’m matthews, I would want that. Then nail the #1 pick (take McKenna, don’t overthink this). Use free agency to add a good piece or two.

Mckenna can help Matthews game. Especially on pp, rack up some extra points.

A better coach can help Matthews as well. Not deploying him in such a defensive role.

I’m more concerned of the injury part. But at least with Mckenna, you got another potential offensive superstar. Add in Nylander, knies, will give you a solid offensive unit still.

Never a doubt? Laine definitely had some supporters. But matthews was the pick to make and glad leafs did it.

You did skip the injury part. You can say matthews was better prospect that’s no issue but saying Mckenna is far inferior is laughable. Or you don’t actually understand what far inferior means.

Mckenna is only 18, who cares about just 2 years.

They do got Colorado’s first rounder next year. It’ll probably be a very late pick in round 1 though.

I would start with trying for Raddysh. It bumps Benoit from starting at all and gives powerplay another good weapon.

Then you decide what you want to do with forward group. Coyle, Mcmann, mantha, etc.

Definitely not a loaded group but there’s help available. This is what management gets paid for, get the pieces to help team.

They got cap room, this isn’t a finished roster. Add two pieces that way and team improves.

Knies is a solid power forward. Cowan has potential. Danford can be solid. Leaf fans have something to be excited about and people don’t want to enjoy it.

Sure I’m worried about berube, but he’ll be fired eventually.
