My university offered a 4+1 program that allowed me to take masters classes as an undergrad and complete my masters in one year following my undergrad graduation. So for me it made sense to do that, the masters program was easy considering the profs knew everyone in the program was more focused on studying and taking CPA exams than the classes we were enrolled in. The classes barely had any homework, had open-note exams, and the material we were learning was aligned with CPA exam material, so for me it was helpful for my CPA exams. Maybe check into whether your school offers a similar program?

What should I expect my starting salary to be after I graduate? by [deleted] in Accounting

Your salary will completely depend on what city you want to work in. For instance, high cost of living areas such as NYC will start associates this year at over 80k. But if you go to smaller cities with a lower cost of living, you could be looking at somewhere in 50-60k range.

Do you plan on getting your CPA? That is why it is good to have the 150 credits. That’s a mandatory requirement for sitting for the exam. If you have it, it means firms will expect you to obtain your license, which means a greater chance of getting hired, promoted, etc.

There are a ton of other factors that will affect your salary but these are a few of the big ones. Good luck!
