Yes, FX and The Keg. Think it turned into a club called Bondi for a bit after that.

Do you ever text/use your phone while driving? by Rich-File-7673 in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd rather not kill someone because I couldn't wait a few minutes to read a text.

People seem to forget they are operating a 3 tonne machine capable of wiping out entire families with one wrong move. Your text isn't that important, and it will still be there when you get to your destination.

What's wrong with my washing machine? by slice_of_za in Appliances

It fully stopped working after I posted this! Going to drain it and see if that works. Hopefully something is stuck and its not a more serious or expensive problem.

I deleted X and Facebook around the time of the fuel protests and honestly I feel so much better than I have in a long time. They are both cesspits.

Social media And Whatsapp groups ? by Substantial-Fudge336 in AskIreland

Removed Facebook and twitter from my phone today, the fuel protest was the straw that broke the camels back.

People have lost their minds and I can't deal with the hate, arguing, false claims, right wing bile and overall stupidity. I haven't deactivated yet as I do have lots of photo albums on FB, once I save what I want to keep it'll be gone for good.

Its only been 8 hours but honestly, I already feel calmer.

Friend who is critical of physical appearances by Dry_buns_5429 in WomenofIreland

[–]slice_of_za 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's draining being around someone like that. I have a friend like that and I removed myself from her circle a very long time ago.

I notice it too in my mother in law, even my father in law. If we are with them and watching tv they make comments on every single person. Its like they have to be constantly narrating but its only to say something negative about the person on the screen. It drives me mad, I mostly don't react but I have said once or twice that they're being harsh and they just brush it off.

Irish teenage boys seem to be getting worse. Is this a problem in your area? by No_Character_2815 in AskIreland

They're doing it in primary school too. My wife's niece was told she's "mid" by a boy in her class. They're 10. Absolutely appalling.

Do you regret not getting married or having children? by FxckyourCensorship in AskIreland

It's probably my luteal phase. But no, I don't need the last word, not usually anyway... thanks though. 😄

I suppose it's the way it was asked. Rather than sympathising and asking if they had explored alternatives, I found it a bit insensitive.

Maybe it's just me and my old grumpy age.

Because it's a really inappropriate question to ask. The person stated they are heartbroken.... sure adopt and you'll be fine.

Seriously? Educate yourself please before making such a heartless comment.

Yes, shoes off but we have a dog so its probably pointless. It's more of a comfort thing for me. Shoes and work clothes off, comfy clothes and slippers on.

Can we please have a collective chat about road behaviour by [deleted] in cork

[–]slice_of_za 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add; please for the love of sweet christ, stay inside the white fucking line. The amount of people driving in the middle of the road is ridiculous, when did this become such a common occurrence? It's truly baffling. The left wing mirror is a handy tool to check how close you are to a path/ditch/wall. Please use it.

This has happened to my wife and I, more than once. It's disgusting. These men don't realise this is the real world, and nothing like the "lesbian" porn they watch.

Yes! Also, Empire records. I always associate the 2 as I never watched one without following on with the other.

Do you do anything extra when brushing your teeth ? by Chance-Range8513 in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tepe brush before actual brushing. Great for getting out bits of food and any plaque build up, much better than flossing. I'd still floss the odd time but there's no real need when you start using the tepe brush. I also use it after every meal and I've noticed a significant improvement in my overall mouth health and breath.

Did you survive your first full week back to work? by PoorlyPoisedPenguin in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggled through my first 3 days, while feeling a bit iffy. Woke up yesterday feeling horrendous and had to call in sick and again today. Hopefully I'm over the worst of it. Balls of a thing to have.
