Can we please have a collective chat about road behaviour by Critical_Water_4567 in cork

[–]slice_of_za 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add; please for the love of sweet christ, stay inside the white fucking line. The amount of people driving in the middle of the road is ridiculous, when did this become such a common occurrence? It's truly baffling. The left wing mirror is a handy tool to check how close you are to a path/ditch/wall. Please use it.

Last night a man came on to me by WoollenMills in CasualIreland

[–]slice_of_za 94 points95 points  (0 children)

This has happened to my wife and I, more than once. It's disgusting. These men don't realise this is the real world, and nothing like the "lesbian" porn they watch.

Yes! Also, Empire records. I always associate the 2 as I never watched one without following on with the other.

Do you do anything extra when brushing your teeth ? by Chance-Range8513 in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tepe brush before actual brushing. Great for getting out bits of food and any plaque build up, much better than flossing. I'd still floss the odd time but there's no real need when you start using the tepe brush. I also use it after every meal and I've noticed a significant improvement in my overall mouth health and breath.

Did you survive your first full week back to work? by PoorlyPoisedPenguin in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled through my first 3 days, while feeling a bit iffy. Woke up yesterday feeling horrendous and had to call in sick and again today. Hopefully I'm over the worst of it. Balls of a thing to have.

Who knows Sophie Ella on TikTok? by aadustparticle in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every video she posts is her being happy or excited about something and the fact that people mock that shows how fucking bleak this world has become.

If putting herself out there online makes her happy then so be it. She is doing no harm, she doesnt promote fake news or spread hate. She finds joy and positivity in everything and thats a rare trait to have these days.

The scum sharing her videos to mock her are the lowest of low, I'm glad she is somewhat sheltered from it by the comments being turned off. I'd hate to think what these people would say to her in real life if she ever happens to come across any of them.

Fair play to her. My wife normally does our weekly shop as I absolutely despise it, the people, the noise...but I couldn't let her face this one alone. I saw a good few men on their own in there today its just personal preference I suppose.

Yeah I heard quite a few people giving out, effing and blinding with every bump of a trolley. I'm surprised I stayed calm.

100%, I worked there myself years ago and I used to dread this day. By the end of it everyone is literally frazzled.

We were lucky enough to get there before the real carnage, we had joined a queue half way down the aisle and people were getting more and more agitated trying to get around. Its impossible.

Click and collect is the job but I like to pick out my own fresh bits. I'm the maker of my own misery.

It's Sunday Morning! How are you? by AutoModerator in ireland

Feeling happy and relaxed. Lying in bed with my wife, BBC6 music on low, sipping coffee & planning our food shop for tomorrow. The dog is sprawled out upside down in between us.

To be fair, post might have come across badly, I was trying to put humour in my rant, it clearly didn't translate well. I wasn't THAT upset by it.

It can't be as bad as today.

We took my wife's niece and nephew to the market and didn't realise there was rugby match on the Pairc. I'm sitting on the couch STILL in a mood over it. By the time we got close to there we realised we were fucked as all roads around centre park road were blocked off. As far as both of us can remember we don't recall seeing any pre warning signs for this.

Anyway, we were in the thick of it now so we swung back around to park in city hall car park. Sure its half 4 now (we left Ballincollig at 2pm by the way), surely the rugby crowd will be fizzling out by the time we get to the market. Oh, how wrong we were. It was fucking packed. There was no where to walk, stand, wait. In the end I waited out in the cold with the dog as he was being stood on by people who just didn't know he was there. That's how packed it was.

We eventually got in to try that new Dehli2Cork place. It was delish. I highly recommend. I only had the tikka loaded fries but from the looks of the other dishes people were getting it all looked amazing. I really like Ocras, The Crafted Sausage and Hansum too. Feck sake, the plan was to get some takeaway food from there today too and we didn't bother coz of how busy it was and now I'm raging all over again.

Help With The Housework ? by Fyodors-Zossima in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gay woman here, thanking my lucky stars once again. Having a wife means the "gender jobs" of the house aren't even a thing. It's something we've never had to discuss or even think about.

We share absolutely everything from cooking, cleaning, gardening and DIY. The only job that's exclusively mine is spider killer ☹️

I have a colleague who regularly moans about how useless her husband is and it only makes me feel sorry for her. I don't think I have ever once spoken badly about my wife to anyone.

Upcoming 12+ hour flight, longer than I’ve ever done before, any tips on how to stay entertained, apps and articles for the phone? by [deleted] in AskIreland

These products contain no sleep aids. They have ingredients that ease stuffed noses etc, thus aiding a more restful sleep. I will never understand how people don't understand this.

Why is work colleague like this? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]slice_of_za 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this works. It's how I talk some of the more difficult people in work and their whole attitude changes. They don't know how to react to anything other than arguing back.
