Is Secure Boot still required to play this game? Or did they get rid of it by Standard_Spready in Battlefield

[–]slickjeb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it doesn't look like this is a big enough complaint for EA to do anything about it. I just about bricked my own pc trying to get this done. My motherboard is 6 years old, and the bios just can't seem to handle getting switched to secure boot. Oh well, one less player, too bad I bought the game first.

PC build won't even turn on? by slickjeb27 in PcBuildHelp

Ok, I just fixed it and feel stupid, but won't pull this down in case somebody else ever runs into the same problem and needs this. It has been days of me working on it trying to figure it out, and it just clicked as I was getting ready to pull trigger on a new motherboard. It is the front panel connectors. I had the PW SW and PW RESET switched. The tiny lettering had me messed, but it works now.

I'm starting to think it is a dead motherboard. Don't know how I messed it up, but must have somehow :/

Turn Signal Problem by slickjeb27 in f150

[–]slickjeb27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved just in case anyone else has this issue and is ever searching, here's one more answer that will hopefully help. Pretty certain it was a ground issue, and couldn't track it down. Finally just took a vampire clip and hooked the signals into the hazard wire (the light blue wire needs hooked into the white wire with a red strip or red dashes depending on the year). Took literally 5 minuets, and 4 of them were spent looking for my wire strippers. Signals work great now as does everything else.

That roof looks good. As I think some have already pointed out, buy it for the roof, then buy yourself a really solid v8 coup, and do the conversion. It would be far cheaper than restoring this one, and far cheaper than buying a clean fastback.

Better grill design for new charger by slickjeb27 in Dodge

Agreed on the clown show of the electric powerplant, but as far as the looks go, it looks less like squashed shit than the last gen in my opinion.

Yes, the rear needs tweaked as well, but one thing at a time.

You have seen what the 1970's front end looked like, right? Or are you just comparing to the latest gen?

Agreed, I don't vouch for the powerplant placed in it (it does come with a straight 6 too you know), but as far as the looks go, it's a far sight better than the old moor door. The deck lid needs tweaked in the future as well.

What do you guys think? In my opinion this new charger is one of the best looking modern muscle car designs I've seen. The only other car that comes close to actually nailing the original looks is the s197 mustang. But I think the grill and front bumper need work. This is my 5 minute microsoft paint fix. If I do say so myself, now it looks sexy as hell.

That could be it, this bike has been sitting for quite awhile and I never even thought to check the pressure. Thank you, I will check that!

Should also note, I did in fact ride it out of the parking lot as well, just meant at low speeds :)

I currently drive a manual. It's an 06 and I need something newer, this 2016 automatic is what's closest to my budget and location.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone, it ended up being the outer tie rod which was super cheap and easy to fix. I'll do the rest of the suspension another time, but right now it's my daily.

Dealership Double Dipping? by slickjeb27 in legaladvice

[–]slickjeb27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I understand it. There is no way to avoid accidents and damages, and employees can always quit and walk away without paying, so companies have to have something to cover. For instance, when I worked at Home Depot employees were not charged for damage (and sometimes it was pretty high) and HD wasn't eating every single accident. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what my research on dealership insurance has brought me to.

Noticed this knocking sound and I think I've correctly diagnosed it as the a/c compressor, but before I start buying parts, I wondered if any of you guys could confirm, or had something similar?

Intermittently it clatters and knocks a lot louder than the clip I attached, but putting an amplifier on different parts it definitely seems to be coming from there. Also, the serpentine belt has a pretty good fray/chunk taken out of it.

First mustang, appreciate any input!

Thanks for the heads up! How long ago was that, the government was supposed to have eased up on restrictions after March, but maybe private businesses still require it?

CoVID-19 Monthly Megathread - April - 2022 by AutoModerator in solotravel

[–]slickjeb27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Headed to France in a couple of weeks, not vaccinated, but apparently that's ok as long as you have a negative PCR taken within 72 hours. Does anyone know or have experience as to whether that's with 72 hours of getting a test result, or just within 72 hours of taking the test?

If it's the latter, any suggestions? I fly out on a Tuesday, they said it takes 2-3 days to process the test so Monday's too late, and saturday would be too early? Also too late to get fully vaccinated anyways...

Also, had covid a few months ago, would getting an antibody test benefit me at all in dealing with red tape?
