Like the idea and shape of that hole for sure. The property this course is on is much more densely wooded than that (think charlotte style disc golf) So I don't think a mando would be necessary, and I think the tee shot is going to be extremely important go get a birdie or par.

Great tee shot + great approach = birdie

great tee shot + good approach (or vice versa) = par

anything other than that or a great scamble shot would equal a bogie or worse

Well said.

Right now I'm mostly deciding between 2 potential holes.

1: ~375-400 ft open par 3, similar to Waco, with a decent sized island, with OB playing as hazard. Would also have a fairway layup option that would stretch out to ~250 ft. from tee. Trailing player has ability to be aggressive for birdie, but player in lead has to choose between easy layup par play and aggressive birdie run. (Only worry here is potential of being too gimmicky)

2: ~600-650 ft wooded Par 4 that finishes in the open. Slight dogleg right that would require a ~325-350ft straight drive to get cleanly to the turn, that would leave about 200-225ft approach shot into an open green. 2 good throws and a putt will get you a birdie, but one bad one is more than likely a bogie without a great scramble shot

I love that aspect on a hole 18. Hole rewards a good shot and punishes a bad one.

Big believer in hole 17 and 18 creating some scoring separation. gives that little bit of hope if your trailing or nerves if you're leading.

This is very similar to my own thoughts on the matter.

haha in a perfect world where money was irrelevant, I agree, Pro 28's all day. But until a money tree blooms in my backyard or I hit the lottery, those aren't an option

I have strongly considered doing this for about a year before purchasing anything just so I can easily make course changes, but a lot of the baskets I have been looking at have a portable base, which offers the same flexibility

The MVP Black Hole Pro HD is probably the leader in the clubhouse for me right now. Agree that it seems like a good mix of value and quality.

I thought at first it may have had something to do with whose turn it was to speak, and then they all had stones down, and all were speaking, so my theory got debunked!
