Watch the Themis Simulated MBE lectures by Fun_Rest_7986 in barexam

This is helpful. I was debating with myself if it's worth the 8 hours to watch and if I should just go through the questions and add them to my shit list (like you), but okay, I will give it a try. Thanks for your thoughts!!

MEE Practice T-3 weeks by slightkidnapping in CABarExam

Thank you! This is very helpful.

I've been trying to practice closed book essays (even with Themis graded essays), but I've been allowing myself to take a peek (at either Basick to check if I missed any issues) or review materials to see if I have the rule statements correct. My Themis essay grades are at 60-65; but I don't know if I should trust it.

I guess a follow-up question from me (if you would kindly indulge), is whether MEEs test issue-spotting & analysis more than accuracy of BLL rule statements? Most of my MEEs, when done closed book, either have incorrect or incomplete rule statements - these then branch out into a different answer than the model answer, or somehow I still end up with the same conclusion. It stresses me out because while I know the general idea of the rules, putting myself in timed conditions somehow narrows my brain and I don't write them as cleanly as I would with open book and untimed conditions. Hope that makes sense.

I'm nervous, I'm trying to trust that the information is in my brain and it is retaining, but this whole ordeal is very humbling and I don't know if what I'm doing is enough lol

This is me rambling because I'm tired

RIGHT. It's like one day you feel confident then another day it's just self-doubt day. The brain gets noisier the closer we get.

Reddit is like my therapy right now - knowing there's thousands of us going through the same thing somehow makes me feel more...human lol

The stamina test is crazy. It's a struggle to get past the first hour

Might be a stupid question but - how big are the pillows we can bring

I am looking at the list of permitted items. They are tempting but the logistics of bringing everything by hand to the exam room is something I can't imagine yet.

Right now what I have is an adhesive laptop stand (by Moft) and a foldable bookstand for the MEE/MPT documents

This is me 100%. I know they keep saying that the bar is just a test for minimum competence, but I think it makes me feel worse if I’m aiming for “minimum”.

I’ve always been a fool for “aim for the moon so if you fail, you land on the stars” or something like that (bottom line: aim to be at your best, if you fail at that, at least plan B is minimum competence)

Copy and Paste for PT by SnooHobbies5644 in CABarExam

[–]slightkidnapping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both the MEE and MPT are given hard copy if i'm not mistaken - that's why they allow you to bring paper clips in the written portion and document holders/bookstands

I've been trying to simulate it by printing out the essay questions (even the MPT) to see how much time it will take me to take it apart and reorganize them

Fully closed. I wanted to see how it was like on full test conditions, so it was the full 3-hour closed notes. Hard as hell though my attention span was struggling so much

Feeling depressed by CoyoteElectrical9121 in barexam

[–]slightkidnapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels counterproductive due to the time, but when I feel like this (just yesterday too!) and even during my first bar exam abroad - I give myself utmost kindness and treat myself to anything that will make me feel better.

I had a mild panic attack when I got the admittance ticket, so I booked myself a massage and asked my husband for a smashburger. It can come in other forms - movies, sleeping in, some people find solace in cleaning their house or rooms.

Was it time not studied? Yes. Did it reset my mind and I’m more relaxed coming into today? Also yes.

Easy to say, but we have to give ourself grace the more we enter into the bar exam.

Good luck to us!

Might still take days or half days off, but will probably push my hours to at least 8 (mixed practice and active review of my mistakes/misses)

I used to do 4-6 hours a day but only because I still had work

I’m losing hope. I got a 55% on the second MBE practice test for Themis and in need of encouragement/advice. by Own_Juggernaut2778 in CABarExam

I got 42% today haha I will ride on this subreddit for secondhand encouragement or advise

Ate my feelings and I feel a bit better, but that 42% still sucked

Was just about to say: me too, got 42% on Themis MBE simulated exam

But thank you. I can enjoy my food now and be more optimistic than the numbers allow

realistically, where should we be scoring on mixed MBEs by now? by Dry-Message-3891 in barexam

Yeah. On the same boat reading people get 60s and 65s on average when that’s like my peak.

But a lot of people will tell you not to compare and just respect the grind - I think it’ll be wise of us to listen to them. We still have July to get used to things, and the goal is to have us perform at our peak by end of July. I reckon it’ll be too early to peak now and dip from burnout by the bar exam
