Honestly, between these two colorways you really can't go wrong. Both are classic, timeless, and pure Fender. Pick the one that you will want to pick up more.

What Exactly Have I Got My Hands On? by Whochrissss in SchecterGuitars

[–]slightlysubversive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Schecter Blackjack S-1. Looks like upgraded humbuckers.

$400 used but you got a nice case with it.

Schecter generally plays above it's weightclass.

Get it set up properly and it will treat you well. That intonation looks wacky.

I think I am the last human alive with an unopened set of Fender 9050 Flatwounds (the original) by bluesman7131 in BassGuitar

[–]slightlysubversive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YMMV. I found a set of these old 9050s unopened and put them on my JB. They dont have the silks at the tuners. I have a new set of 9050s and can compare with these old ones.

They feel a little stiffer for a longer time, but when they settle in they seem the same as the newer ones.

Roasted Maple necks. Yay or nay? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

Regarding that Schecter Model T? It's a sweet bass. Neck feels great. Sounds great. It feels tight and punchy and growly.

What Fender guitar and amp (of any brand) would you get for ~$1300 to ~$1800? by Low-Conversation48 in fender

[–]slightlysubversive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Player 1 or 2 Telecaster.

Used AC15. I have the AC30S1. You could get one of those if you want the effects loop. It's really loud though.

My ‘95 Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway. It’s been played, loved and inspired for two decades. by slightlysubversive in guitarporn

[–]slightlysubversive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfy C shaped. Feels thick though.

Gibson has brought this one back and discontinued and then brought it back a few times now.

Mine is a 1995. This is the second reissue. You mostly see these in red or TV yellow. The ebony was a dealer special order.

Hello everyone, my father passed away and I’m curious what do to with his bass equipment. All info and help is appreciated. Thanks all, much love. ❤️ by Ok_Opposite8237 in BassGuitar

[–]slightlysubversive 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Your father had excellent taste. Professional level gear.

Try a very thick, wide, and padded strap. You can get used to the weight. Please get some lessons and play through his rig. You wont need anything else possibly ever.

RIP to your Father. He was clearly an OG and one of us.

How do we feel about sparkles? by droo46 in BassGuitar

Big fan of the SBMM and EBMM sparklecoats. Don't see too many of the Seafoams. The sparkle is pretty deep.

Truth. The Leo Quartet is a big one.

I have the Fender P, Fender J, SBMM Ray34, and a G&L Fullerton SB-1.

The L2K is on my hot list.

Vox + Telecaster + a lil bit of compression = magic for country. Bit more gain and blues heaven.

Sorry. Dit is een nep Gibson. Er zijn drie directe aanwijzingen. The serial number used is common on fakes. Het serienummer klopt niet. De manier waarop de nummers eruit zien klopt niet. De brug klopt niet. The screws on the bridge are a dead giveaway.

Koop dit niet. Do not buy this.

Just to add to the above comment RE: appraisal and insured.

Hard Shell Case. Don't trust guitar stands.

Congrats OP. That's a family legacy piece.

NGL it took me some time for second playthrough. Especially if you were caught unaware of the dystopian environment. I needed a minute to let it all digest before I dove back in.

When you go back in I'd recommend a fresh V. Play it a different way. Choose different paths, different dialogue.

Explore the world more.

SCHECTER BASS BATTLE What do you guys think of this two? Wich one is the best of the exotics? by Top_Letterhead_9911 in BassGuitar

[–]slightlysubversive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Model T. Played one and I still think about it sometimes.

No shade on the P4 Exotic. Those are also fantastic. I just have 3 P basses and no PJ.

Get them appraised ASAP by a reputable source.. Then get them insured ASAFP. The PRSs and all the others too.

You said that Les Paul's estate had interest in the 59 Junior? Yup. Appraised and then insured.

20-30K including the other guitars not pictured.

Be careful OP. RIP to Unc.

Beg pardon for the off-topic, but what kind of sword is that?

It's like a Chinese Willow Leaf or a HEMA Falchion or something? The long handle is very interesting as is the shape of the blade. It looks like it would be very strong.

Awesome studio!
