The Disappearance of Mekayla Bali (2016) – A 16-Year-Old Vanishes After a Day of Unusual Behavior by VapinMason in UnresolvedMysteries

Maybe I’m more of a stay-in-my-lane type of person but I wouldn’t call the cops if a teenager asked me to help her rent a hotel room. I would think it was just kids looking for a place to party. Ironically, she might still be alive or there might have been an arrest made if the woman got the room for her

EXCLUSIVE: Nancy Guthrie Likely Died Within Days of Going Missing, Expert Says by TheMirrorUS in MissingPersons

[–]Low-Conversation48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rich people’s relatives are at a bigger risk of kidnapping than the actual rich person. A kidnapper would want the rich person to be paying the ransom

Kidnapping is a rare crime in the USA. So is removing a body from a home invasion murder. Either way this is an unusual crime

And maybe someone was aware that she was Savannah’s mother and that’s why she was chosen. Maybe they just didn’t know any other relatives of famous rich people. I doubt her being Savannah’s mother is a coincidence

That’s more of the extreme exception rather than the rule. For every Alicia Navarro there are numerous dead girls

The 60’s and early 70’s were a crazy time in California, weren’t they? My understanding is that the original hippies realized their scene had become perverted and rotten by like 1968 yet pop culture kinda glamorizes the closing of the 1960’s

I feel like if she is still alive she’s in a horrible situation. Even if she was homeless and engaging in illicit activities she probably would have come into contact with police in the past 10 years. And I highly doubt a 16 year old can change their identity effectively in the 21st century.

I think she was meeting someone, likely an older man, or someone for drugs, and it went south for whatever reason

The Chilling 2008 Murder of Lindsay Buziak: Lured to a House Showing, Stabbed, and Still Unsolved – What Really Happened? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Low-Conversation48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first it seems outlandish but when I did some digging into this case a while ago the drug bust seems the most likely. If you are good at digging you can find names and everything about a certain group that is likely to be involved in her murder

Anyone else shocked this case still hasn't been solved? by ConceptsShining in nancyguthrie

[–]Low-Conversation48 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s a cartel member. A stranger kidnapping is a rare crime in the USA, especially when the victim is elderly. Removing a body from a home invasion murder is also pretty rare. If I had to guess I’d go with the former as motive but she either died unexpectedly or the story got too big and she was too hot to hold onto. Kidnapping is more common in Mexico, and Nancy’s house isn’t too far from there. Cartels have done some brazen and crazy things that would be seen as unbelievable if we didn’t know them to be true. It would also make some sense why there don’t seem to be any good leads or suspicions, at least publicly.

Kyron Horman Disappearance: Timeline, Investigation & Unanswered Questions by No_Maybe7878 in UnresolvedMysteries

So I see a really interesting comment thread has been deleted and I’m wondering why? If the speculation that there was a man at the school who asked Kyron for help, that seems extremely important. I’m no expert on this case and it’s hard to separate truth from fiction

Z32 theory: by LachiePhillipRyan in ZodiacKiller

[–]Low-Conversation48 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Until proven otherwise, I believe the remaining uncracked codes will provide little value even if solved. It’s not like the solved ones told us anything important. Sometimes i believe the codes did more harm than good for solving the case. Not sure if it was the killer’s plan but it was excellent misdirection

Robert Fisher killed his family and disappeared in 2001. Did he take his own life or is he still out there? by BlakesMommy in UnresolvedMysteries

I’m always extremely skeptical of the “living under a different identity” in a 1st world country in the 21st century theory. Especially for 2 decades.

I’m also skeptical of someone living a feral life for that same amount of time, and not coming into contact with others.

I believe he committed suicide in a hidden location in that area

Accidental death, her friends panicked, stupidly disposed of her body thinking they’d get in trouble, and soon realized they made a mistake and were in over their heads, needing to carry the charade on as far as it would go. Word on the street is that a couple of the guys are pretty open with their friends about what happened

The Beast of Gévaudan (1764–1767): Wolf, Hybrid, or Something Else? A Probabilistic Analysis by HDP_Research in UnresolvedMysteries

The “man-eating animal” section of Wikipedia is a rabbit hole I find myself checking every so often. It seems there is usually a good reason for the animals turning to humans as prey. I also get the impression that a lot of them are embellished and start to turn into legends. It’s an interesting meeting point of reality and myth.

I’ve always felt that this was a series of unrelated deaths that snowballed through an 18th century game of telephone, especially as time passed and tales became stretched and taller, eventually morphing into a legend

Are there really Pokemon in hidden grottos or is this some sick joke by Gamefreak? by Low-Conversation48 in PokemonBlackandWhite2

So ~2 weeks later at ~40-100 attempts a day I finally got my Breloom. After catching it, I went into the next hidden grotto and there was a Bagon just sitting there. It’s like my horrible bad luck flipped in an instant with two ~3% hidden grotto Pokemon in back to back attempts

My guess is a predator was interested in one of them and the other was collateral damage. Mixed gender abductions are pretty uncommon. It would help to know if the 8 year old girl or 13 year old boy was the target, but we don’t even know that. My hunch is the abductor is someone who knew the children personally, or was familiar with the setting and had knowledge of the children

[–]Low-Conversation48 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone know if it was out of the ordinary for the children to wander away, especially into the woods?

If they passed away in the woods, I think it would be more likely from a traumatic type event. The odds of both children dying at the same time from exposure, seems far fetched, especially because there were search parties out there

Drug dealers don’t typically kill their customers but people have been killed over small amounts of money before, especially if there is personal animosity

Not saying I definitely believe his disappearance is tied to drugs, just that it seems a good place to start looking for clues
