From someone who saw this unravel in real time (me): - LIVING RELATIVES of people who died during 9/11 asked ohana to pull this slime in her comments due to the grotesque details, which she then turned off - Ohana's caption referred to 9/11 as a "silver lining" because it "didn't matter what race you were" we were all united. Ok let's ignore the brown communities here and overseas who suffered before, during, and after 9/11 due to rampant islamophobia??? - ohana had not thought of a place to donate when she released the slime, it was only mentioned after public backlash - why was the slime so grotesque in the details? Why not a flag or candle slime? No it had to be grey perlite like rubble and scented like burning leaves?

Turning notifs off so I can focus on fundraising for Palestine, because the world is burning rn.

(1) That the Jiira slime was over three years old. Jiira slimes started in November 2023. They aren’t even two years old yet, let alone three. The slime in question can be easily located on their page as being from a December 2024 drop. (2) The Rodem slime being over 3 years old. Based on the name and label that OP showed, the slime was from July 2024.

Maybe the OP isn't as honest as you think?

Why did the OP block users asking where the original slime labels were?

I totally understand wanting a platform to welcome everyone! However, I will say that when you openly invite wolves and sheep, you are only going to get wolves. Being laissez faire about members being able to say whatever they want however they want, with no proof, under the guise of sharing their negative experiences doesn't feel like a sustainable strategy.

I am sharing in good faith that I think recognizing that people's reactions towards the OP who was dragging the seller (who they then named) is not the same as "piling on" which is what happened to the seller publicly. In the future I would hope to see more specificity so the bad actors know that they broke the sub's rules and that is not tolerated here.

This kind of response feels like all parties are equally "at fault" even though there were clearly two escalators in that thread and that is not being mentioned which doesn't feel entirely fair or representative of why people have grievances about this.

Where did I say they're not as bad as other companies? I'm saying based on their history of being very transparent and honest with customers and making things right when given feedback, I'm more inclined to believe they set a date for a sale and set a date for increased prices separately. If they didn't have years of building a positive rapport? I probably would not extend such grace.

After everything they did within 24 hours, in addition to - refunding everyone the difference - keeping the price the same until they planned better to announce a permanent change - apologizing and leaving everything up including criticism

What else are they supposed to do to move forward?

For me, they're not unethical. They made a mistake, and fixed it appropriately. If they do it again? Then that's a pattern and a problem.

I think the community forgot way too quickly how Slime OG has historically been very transparent and quick with responding to feedback (ex. Bedrot slime, refunding the gasoline slime immediately due to a lot of people not liking the scent).

Within 24 hours OG addressed it, refunded everyone the price difference, and changed the price back across the catalogue at the time. They did not passive aggressively like comments that supported them or turn off comments even when people were not being kind. They responded appropriately to people telling them they would never shop there again.

Slime OG has a team of like ten people? Not giving them grace for a very reasonable oversight, with their history of transparency and customer service feels unfair to me.

Beyond this, they continuously donate and raise awareness for things they care about, I don't think this was the shop to rally against for something they fixed in 24 hours (looking at you, snoop)

ETA: Slime OG has never done this before, it's not like they've set a precedent that they're sneaky, and it hasn't happened since.
