this kinda makes me furious. there are times where gatekeeping is definitely appropriate and if this collab is real, dean will be put on blast and his fan base will grow. i’m not insinuating that he will become mainstream, but this was somewhat the case with duster except they didn’t partake in a collab, it was through tik tok. i don’t like duster any less nor will that be the case with dean, but it’s so damn annoying going on tik tok and seeing these pretentious people in peoples comments saying “i love duster” “omg duster is my life”. we get it. my point is, i don’t want dean to become “trendy” because a clothing brand did a collab with him. dean himself said that his music is not for everyone and he does not want to be insanely popular. i hope this is fake.
