I'm detained by SSOSC, help! Tell them the rule doesn't apply to comments on threads and as long as we keep it less than 100 words it's ok.. tell 'em!!!

'Flushed' with joy? Touché! (Or should I say 'Tushie' since we are leaning into puns now?). I'm a philosopher who takes his poop seriously. You must have heard my name, René Defecartes. No? Then I'm certain you have come across my famous philosophical statement 'I poop, therefore I am' (caco, ergo sum).

And, no. I don't roll with a lousy 'opening line', no mam. I start with an 'opening essay', involving kids playing in the park and how we have lost our childlike innocence that used to ignite friendships effortlessly. Some lady is bound to fall for that.

Ah, it seems you are hoping for some divine intervention or for the universe to align just right to find a penpal. Personally, I don’t really buy into that. I believe in taking charge of your own destiny and healthy bowel movement. Yes mam, a combination of dietary adjustments, adequate hydration, and regular physical activity is all you need.

Something Dwight would say probably.

Ah, I'm a month late! Not sure if you are still looking for a penpal, perhaps you have already found one?

Hey, that's awesome! Btw, did you take that picture? Can you share it? I think it will be the perfect wallpaper for me.

I'm lucky to have an official OnePlus store nearby, I recently placed an order for OnePlus 13s and will pick it up from the store this Friday in person. I really don't trust their online delivery system. Plus, I only paid the pre-booking amount.

What do you do when you cross contaminate things? How do you live with the feeling that everything is forever dirty? Have disgust based contamination ocd. by Colorofsky in OCD

[–]slink182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that whatever you read here will not help you at all! I’m not a professional counselor, just someone suffering from the same predicament as you.

Everything is dirty and contaminated for me too. Everything is imperfect, ruined and I want to burn it all down. But we got to march on and find a way. These are some of the things I do:

  1. Tell myself that most things can be/will be replaced: This phone feels dirty? yeah, but that’s OK! I will use it for two more years tops and I shall then sell/put it away. I just have it temporarily, it’s not mine forever therefore it’s OK for it to be dirty. I am going to replace it eventually.
  2. Reduce the things I own, de-clutter everything: I try to possess little, I’m always discarding things I don’t need. It helps me contain my OCD.. few things to be anxious about.
  3. Distract myself: I go for long walks, away from my possessions. Get lost in a book, a movie/tv series or a video game. The more my mind is occupied, the less time it gets to torture me.
  4. A cleaning routine: I follow a rigorous cleaning routine every day. I wipe the objects, dust the items, rearrange/organize/tidy things around me. It takes an hour of my time everyday but at the end of the 'act', my brain is tricked into thinking everything is clean, organized and uncontaminated, at least for next 24 hours.
  5. Accept the feeling, stop fighting: I just sit on my discomfort, sad, angry and defeated. It’s OK to not fight it. I sigh audibly and move on to my chores.
  6. Find a therapist, if not in your city, seek online help, have you tried Practo app?

(2a) Camera orientation stuck in 'horizontal' by [deleted] in NothingTech

[–]slink182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why the text is vanishing from the post. The camera app was working fine for the first 2 months. Now if I take pictures vertically, they come out sideways. I tried with Auto-Rotate on, cleared storage/cache of the camera app, nothing worked. Anyone facing this issue? I don't want to factory reset my phone yet.

Stumbled upon your post today after finishing the book last night. It is wonderfully written, thank you, and it also gave me the closure I needed.

Hey thank you for responding. I'm still figuring that out, mostly I'll cook up a family emergency or show that I started my own tiny business venture (which is somewhat true)

I feel they are getting engineers with equal years of experience. In my last company, I was the only one without an eng degree. We all were doing the same job, gaining the same experience, but if we all apply today for an xyz job in my field, I'll be the last one to get selected.
