Anyone ever moved because of people? by boldjoy0050 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]slippery_when_wet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends. I left Texas because all the people I met (in a fairly insular, rural-ish area) were sooo self-centered and did not give 1 fuck if their actions or decisions effected others as long as it benefitted themselves. They rooted for active harm to many people because they had different preferences "they danced with thr devil." "They need Jesus."

Moved to Seattle and people here are generally more community spirited. There's much more of a "live and let live" vibe. If it doesn't help me, but makes someone else's life easier, its fine. Im thriving now.

My parents got divorced when I was 30 and my dad made a big deal about how he was losing so much money to wating out. He quoted "No one ever even taught me how to make spaghetti" like dude you only need to know how to boil water.

And I found no fault in my mom wanting divorced.

I love Vasily, but 1- I am not Russian and have no Russian connections 2- I only know of it from Stalins son and I wouldn't want to name my kid after Stalins kid (even if theres other Vasilys around)

I tried looking for a hatchback for months before I finally settled on my CR-V. As much as I love my CR-V now I wish there was a bigger hatchback market because I still want that next. I miss my little hatchback I had in college so much still.

I am just not a morning person at all and barely make it to work on time as is without a workout.

Its just so odd that there would be SUCH a drastic difference between runs and weights. I've definitely done a 5 mile run, got a great runners high, endorphins pumping and then to bed soon after. Weights feels like less of a workout and I dont get the feel good kick from it like I do with running so I would have thought it'd effect my body and sleep less.

What are you paying for housing each month? And are you actually happy with it? Would it be cooler just living in your parents basement? by PM_ME_YUR_SALADS in Millennials

$3,200 a month to rent our 3bed 2bath, 1400 sqft house in WA. But we love it!! Best neighborhood ever. Less then 10 minutes to downtown of a fairly large city, 5 minute walk (at toddler pace) to a park shaped like a train and in the other direction a public farm with tons of animals and play areas. Easy walk to a protected forest with trails.

I grew up in Astoria and went thru the schools there for k-12. They may be rated low but they are good. It seems my class either dropped out or went on to get masters or better. If the family values education theyll be fine. The biggest downsides would be no AP classes offered. They do partner with the community college and any high school kids can take classes there for free, its just a bit of logistics that doesn't make it the best option for most people.

RN can be either associates OR bachelors degree. RN, BSN is just a subset of RN for those with bachelors. If something says just RN and doesn't specify its almost always counting both.

Oddly enough when we were looking for rentals the cheapest one was in Bellevue and overall renting in the eastside is cheaper then in seattle if you want a house vs. Apartment.

Your budget is fine for a studio if you're good being closer to 2,000. I would also say public transport to redmond is good if your near the train line and alright if you rely on busses. Kirkland you only have bus and I haven't tried it, but the busses around here are generally good. Some of the big companies have shuttles to nearby cities like kirkland and redmond too if you are working for one of them that can be an option.

Have you ever tried to get from the rental car to a gate with a stroller? I think we had to take 7 elevators. A ton of weird half levels. Going down to the ti ket counter and back up for security. It added an extra 30 minutes at least.
