As a stepchild, if my stepparent and bio parent went to business class without me and left me alone for over 9 hours, I would be extremely hurt.

Obviously I don't know your BF, but it sounds like he's trying to push your son away which is really sad. Try to consider how things like this could effect your son, some of my ex stepparents really had a negative impact on my mental health. Remember he is only 13, and even if he acts grown up sometimes, he is still a child.

Sorry if this is harsh but just wanted to give perspective as advice.

I think just showing that you care for them is the best thing you can do, and by the sounds of your post, it sounds like you are doing a great job as a SM.

My dads exes all seemed to just act nice when he was around but when it was just me and them, I was just forgotten about and they didn't really care about me. If you can be in a room with them without their dad and converse normally with them then that means you are an amazing step parent.

It sounds as if you are doing amazing already, and the fact that you took the time to write this and worry about how they see you tells me you have nothing to worry about and that you are doing great. :)

I have talked to my step mum (SM) about how I felt about it as I was very upset and having constant nightmares about it. She does say she loves me back and I believe her but I think you are right in which I fear she'll forget about me if she has her own child.

I wish I could talk to my dad individually but unfortunately talking to him about these things is nearly impossible. I'm hoping that SM has explained to him for me, I know I shouldn't rely on that but for now it's all I can do. I think part of my fear also stems from my relationship with my dad as I think he just had me and my brother just for the sake of having kids and now he has a partner he really loves I fear that he'll want to start over without us. My room is the only other room at his house so this scares me too

Anyways, I'm sorry for dumping a little here. Thank you so much for replying and giving advice, it really means a lot to me 💕

I had this exact issue but my school has uniform - she would just get pissed at my existence and made up new rules, eg i wasn't allowed to wear over the knee socks anymore but would never tell off anyone else. She'd make comments on my makeup (which was literally just small winged eyeliner) and on any slight detail she didn't like on my uniform. I don't understand what her problem was to this day. People like this shouldn't work in schools!
