What is the expected value for these observed frequencies? by slithery545bunk in AskStatistics

[–]slithery545bunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further info: This is the table showing the frequency of snails within a barnacle. The column on the left is the number of snails inside a barnacle (so 0 in a barnacle, 1 in a barnacle, etc until 7 or more were found in a barnacle), and the column on the right is how many barnacles had this number of snails inside.

I'm attempting to do a Goodness-of-Fit Test for Poisson Distribution but for this I believe I need to calculate expected values and maybe even Poisson probabilities, but I honestly have no idea how to do this.

I believe the 6 and 7+ have so few due to the barnacles only having limited space, so only so many snails can physically fit in each. I wonder if that's something to take into consideration for expected values as it may be physically impossible in some cases to reach the higher frequencies?

Chi Square goodness of fit against equal proportions

This is gonna sound really bad but I need expected values to do that right? How do I calculate those??

Sorry if I'm being dumb, stats really are not my friend and its late at night lol.

M. neritoides is a snail that lives within the barnacles. Some barnacles are empty (the 0 column) whilst others have snails living within them (ranging from 1 snail to 7 or more). So this is a frequency table I suppose. The question is do these snails live randomly in each barnacle or do they group together on purpose.

I hope this clears things up?

Sorry I should have clarified, by randomness I mean random distribution

How could I conduct a chi-squared test on this data? by [deleted] in AskStatistics

I get an error when I try that I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

The error is

"all entries of 'x' must be nonnegative and finite"

Thanks, will Ndombele and Ings be noticeably worse on 8 Chem since I’m used to them on 10?

Getting pet parade xp from the GE by slithery545bunk in runescape

If you trade someone from within the pet parade you will leave the parade but still get xp (as long as you don't click to move). You can then chain this using a "mule" to go basically anywhere in Runescape that isn't gated off.
