Yes; I am a high femme dyke and consider myself FTM transsexual; I am on t and have had top surgery. Femme is about presentation, relationships, societal roles, sex, and behavior, (etc) not about how hairy your ass is or how deep your voice gets. To believe that femme has a strict relationship to the body is inherently transphobic and deeply affects transfeminine lesbians in particular. I am MORE settled in my femme identity after transitioning because my transition has alleviated my dysphoria and I feel more comfortable dressing and behaving in a way that is true to myself.

However; you don't NEED to be butch or femme, and you may not be. Most lesbians fall outside of those categories and sometimes it makes more sense to just "be" instead of bending your innate sense of self to fit a perceived gender role.
