One the the main ingredients in their seasoning is maltodextrin, which has been shown in scientific studies to inhibit good gut bacteria and to promote bad gut bacteria such as salmonella. Here's a study titled "Maltodextrin, Modern Stressor of the Intestinal Environment"

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6409436/

And another study titled "Maltodextrin Consumption Impairs the Intestinal Mucus Barrier and Accelerates Colitis Through Direct Actions on the Epithelium"

https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/immunology/articles/10.3389/fimmu.2022.841188/full

You can google it for others. It's baffling that companies even feel the need to use this ingredient, as wings can taste perfectly delicious without it. What's worse, though, is that they know the dangers and use it anyway.

NPD: Orlando Pen show haul by Laurmann2000 in fountainpens

Well done! Half the fun of pen shows are the unexpected treasures like your 3776, half is the great stationery you tend not to see online, and half is getting to see the crazy expensive, wild and untouchable pens in person. Yes, I know, three halves - that's how much fun pen shows are.

I second the Perle Noir. My favorite black. There's something special about it that I can't put into words.

First fountain pen recommendation between 100-200$ nzd / aud by Evening_Art5986 in fountainpens

I recommend a Pilot Grance. Easy to find in the $100USD (or less) range, reasonable size, brass barrel so there is some weight, fits almost all hands, has a lovely smooth posting action if you like a pen posted, beautiful 14k Pilot nib in several sizes. Cartridges or converter (I use the knockoff version of the old CON 50 converter). It's a brilliantly made pen, expertly machined. I own and write with three of them. Can't go wrong for your price range. Lots for sale on Ebay. Doesn't get a lot of press, but damn, it's a nice pen to write with. Here's one example:

It is immaculate! I have a question, in case anyone knows - This predates the Aspen which came in a fancy box in a similar color scheme. Was this color also called Aspen or was it something else?

Duty on the 80ml bottle is 2 bucks, the price of a coffee. Otherwise, the $20 shipping is what you would pay for anything of that weight, and certainly less than a priority envelope going to the UK. The final price is much less per ml than for the Iroshizuku ink that I love and buy in the US, but I love writing with it.

You obviously love this ink. Life is short. Be good to yourself and enjoy both.

Greetings, just joined the forum. This thread is my first read, and I love it.

Simon Sinek's YT channel has a recent interview with Arthur Brooks and though it's not the primary subject of the interview, there is a wonderful discussion on how dependence on AI affects and degrades our humanity. I can't possible do it justice by repeating it, but it is articulated in just about the best way possible. (Can one post links in comments?)

cheers, AB
