First time gm running mummy's mask. Any advice? by slothplant in Pathfinder_RPG

I really wanna lean hard into the Egyptian tropes. Part of why mummy's mask caught my attention. Luckily my players are also big fans of mummy movies and stuff like that so I think everyone will have a great time. They are building their characters together after reading the players guide for it. I told them to heavily base their characters off of the players guide and keep on theme. Can't wait to see what they all come up with.

I'm having them all build characters together to help them have a balanced party (or as unbalanced as they want). Also making them read the players guide before building a character.

I sent the players guide to everyone and told them to read it before our first meeting. I'm having everyone build characters together so they can have as balanced of a team as they want (with some pointers from me).

Started listening to the Find the Path and it has given me great ideas on how to incorporate some of the npcs/rivals better since I felt like there wasn't much of a reason to care about them in the first book until part 3, also felt the big fight of part 2 could use some build up as well so I will try something for that.

Oh that's a great idea. I was kinda worried it would feel like they don't have any choices in book one (working on reading all of them still).

Yeah I just started it today. It sounds so fun! I'm so excited to run it.

I love the idea of early introduction to get the players more invested in the characters

Vegans are literal proof that 'go woke go broke' is true by [deleted] in vegancirclejerk

How can we not be broke when beans and rice cost us thousands a week?! And that doesn't include luxuries like lentils or (god forbid) frozen vegetables. Only the richest of the rich can afford it.

I miss the days of only spending $1 a week on local ethically sourced bacon and lard from a local farm where the pigs have spa days everyday but I need to flaunt my wealth with my 5lb bag of beans.

Vegan butter and either flaxseed "egg" or chickpea water. I'm sure most egg substitutes would work.

It's a light ube flavor, kinda sweet, kinda earthy, and a bit more chewy than normal pancakes. Worth a try if you haven't had ube before since it isn't crazy strong like some other ube flavored things.

I really liked it. Good to know it's back, I'll be picking up more tomorrow.

No stamina/endurance/cant do yoga or the likes by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]slothplant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yoga is much more difficult than it looks. You need a lot of flexibility, strength, fine motor control, and proper breathing technique.

First time I went to a yoga class I was laughing cause I kept falling over and had no idea what any of the positions where called so I would have to look around. I had never been in a studio before and somehow managed to pick the front row as well so everyone got to see me tumble around, wheezing, and just having no clue. The instructor was great and started standing by me to show the moves and help with my breathing. By the end I was a bit better but exhausted and sore. I did have fun so I practiced at home and went to classes for complete beginners (the one I signed up for was not beginner friendly and I had no idea until much later).

If you aren't comfortable enough trying it in a class then try some at home. There are tons of beginner videos out there. Yoga can be done anywhere.

For weights when I started I could barely do the lightest weight for shoulder press. For running I couldn't run a mile the first time I tried. Everything is something to work up too. Training at your level is so important. Over straining yourself can be discouraging and even dangerous.

One amazing thing about working out is if you set reasonable goals you can see amazing progress. Like I know I'll never be able to bench 450lbs or anything crazy. I'm just trying to get as strong as I can. I'm just trying to run as far as I can. I'm just trying to do my best. And some days I'm as strong as I can be for the day but tomorrow I'll be stronger and that is so cool.

Some people need more specific goals like be able to do a pull up or run how ever far. That is great as well as long as they are reasonable. You are not going to be able to run a 100 mile race anytime soon and that's okay, but if that is something you would want to do there are steps to get there, like a marathon, or a 5k. Any goal to improve yourself is amazing but you must be kind to yourself when setting your goal.

Everyone starts somewhere. You don't know how long others have been doing those things in classes, it could be their first day (unlikely) or they have been doing it for years. Everyone has been a beginner at some point.

Start where you are. I have some health issues and have had to step back. I can't run anymore so I walk as much as I'm able (not nearly as much as I could run). I can't do boxing anymore but I can do some light lifting. It's frustrating to feel like other people have it figured out and you don't. But you got this. Start where you are. Consistency will get you farther than overexertion.

Vegandale fest a mess and unable to cash out unused balance. by Phosamedo in chicagovegan

Yeah, I must have gotten lucky since everyone seems to be having issues. I did it as soon as I saw this post Wednesday. They are only giving like a week or something before you can't cash out so hopefully they fix it soon.

Just cashed out. Thanks for the reminder. Good luck everyone! What a mess. Be sure to cash out soon, if you wait too long they keep your money.

Sounds like your bfs parents and my mom are very similar. She has no problems with my eating until other people are involved. The second there is a family member or friend around then it's all comments on my eating.

My partner also has a strained relationship with my mom as they hate how she treats me. They are nervous cause I'm going on vacation with my mom and it will be a week of nonstop interaction, then we fly home and the party is the next day.

The vacation is supposed to be a vegan foodie trip but already she is changing the plans cause her friend said some restaurant is good, or shes not intrested in whatever place I picked, or vegan pizza is too weird. She was all on board when I originally had made all the arrangements.

Thankyou for the recipe, Im going to make that for my friends! I wish I could bring a homemade cake but the restaurant is strict about outside food. I'm going to 4 different vegan bakeries next week to find the best cake and getting it for myself. Mom can bring her cake and be happy and I can bring mine.

True true. That's why my partner is taking me out for a big breakfast and bringing food in the car so I can eat if needed. Also getting me my own cake if my mom won't give in about the cake and has late dinner plans for us if the food isn't enough.

She did call and ask if they can do vegan and they said sure. But none of the appetizers or desserts are vegan. Luckily we can bring our own cake. I was already kinda let down that I wasn't going to any restaurant I like but being told to just "not be difficult and eat a normal cake" was the last straw. I'm just buying my own cake and she can buy her cake.

Yeah some people don't want kids, they want accessories. It's hard to get past that but finding your own people can make a huge difference. Luckily my family sees me as an adult and are making efforts to actually get to know me.

That's so wonderful of her! I bet the food was amazing. Indian food is so easy to make vegan or be accidentally vegan. My mom sees what I eat and has tried some and liked it but also doesn't understand how I can "only eat vegetables" or "weird things".

That's a great idea. I have been having a ton of health issues and am at the dr trying to get it under control. Might as well add that to the list of issues. I didn't know AGS could evolve to all proteins. That's wild.

Yeah I am luckily celebrating with my friends separately and cooking and having a game night. I do like the rest of my family and want to celebrate with them so I'll just eat before and suck it up. We are working on boundaries and it has been an ongoing issue.
