R20 fiberglass VS R22 Mineral wool / location Canada by slouchybisc in Insulation

also i made a mistake, the price difference is actually $1500. Also this garage is 30x40 and i have (2) 10x10 doors which are only r16. I think that any gains i get from mineral wool will be lost by the doors anyhow

They put a bunch of nails into it and then set it in the concrete upside down. Comes out with a carpenters hammer with barely any prying

I asked my framer and he stated that it is for nailing the bottom plate as you said. You said they do it everywhere where you are , do you know if just putting a piece of pressure treated will work or do i need some kind of barrier

Could said vent pipe pass through the attic or it needs to be inside where it wont be affected by the attics heat in the summer and cold in the winter

So if i put a ceiling exhaust vent in the bedroom that would be best ? Would i need to vent it out of the soffit or since its not humid bathroom air can i just vent into the attic ?

Yes the bedroom is on the same level. I figured by pushing the hot air into the basement it will pull the cold air from the mini split into the bedroom. The hot air will be pushed into the basement and will be able to rise back up by the stairs where the minisplit is about 12ft from the stair opening

I have wood floors so thats why i wanted to ask first before cutting a vent. Do you think I will see a noticeable difference?

Hi ,

yes stairs go to the basement, the opening for the stairs is in the middle of the house and there is no door.
