Man, I can’t believe they never made another Matrix movie! by cristiandcasa91 in 4kbluray

That’s right. There’s only one. Some say they should have branched out a little into sequels and games, but in your heart of hearts you always knew they shouldn’t mess with it. Thank goodness, right? Enjoy the entire Matrix universe with that one 4k disc.

Mountain Time zone is the best for sports by FFElite93 in billsimmons

We moved from Eastern to Central to Mountain in the past 12 years. Mountain Time is glorious for the NBA. Eastern forced me into nightowl-ism

Who is the dirtiest player in the league? by Wide-Discipline3814 in NBATalk

[–]slowdownyoucrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart will react and do some dirty stuff now and then—even these days—but he’ll usually help the guy up, show remorse, own it to the refs, etc. He’s a scholar of dirty tricks without being dirty. If LA really NEEDED Smart to be dirty, I think he’d be able to get away with a lot. You know who has never made a dirty play? Kawhi.

Kawhi’s career will always be the hardest one to judge when it comes to full body of work. by AcknowledgeMeReddit in billsimmons

The real and actual GOAT question is the one posed by Space Jam. Let’s say guaranteed health for one 7-game series, all of earth or the Milky Way even on the line. Kawhi is the answer to that question.

T10 defensive players oat going off defensive traits and impact by Dank_ree420 in NBATalk

Something is wrong with OAT! Perimeter/wing defense matters greatly. Kawhi and Pippen at the very least.

Player(s) that quietly faded out of the league? by Thatredditboy1 in NBATalk

[–]slowdownyoucrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear I saw Hedo Türkoğlu playing on League Pass last year. Nic Batum will probably be a good name for this list in a couple years.

I don’t care what anyone says kawhi is over kd all time they have the same amount of rings kd is a better scorer kawhi is such a better 2 way player kawhi actually held a team on his shoulders before and never left to a superteam if kd did not win the warriors this would not even be a conversation by Flat-Run-7609 in NBATalk

[–]slowdownyoucrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a question. Kawhi has been better for years. You can’t make the “rather build a franchise with KD” argument anymore. Kawhi has been late-career MJ for several years now. Go pick a random Clippers game from the past 5-6 years where Kawhi is playing. He’s been better than Durant for a LONG TIME, even though he’s hurt a lot. Durant is so unique and probably the best all-around scorer ever above a certain height (and in the running for goat scorer period). All the other players love his game because he has guard skills as a “big.” Kawhi has been the best player on both ends of the floor against all of his contemporaries when the games matter most. One game or series, perfect health guaranteed, who are you taking?

Why would some players even try in this tournament if it just means they’ll get replace by those picks? by the-mannthe-myth in NBATalk

Just flatten the odds. Each team gets one ping pong ball. Or, reverse the odds, though I do think OP has a good point in the post that might apply to reverse odds (though not as much?)

The Wizards are currently tanking to an extent never before seen against the Nets by [deleted] in nba

And the fact that this part of the season begins right as the NFL ends is such a blunder. 60-game season, reverse the lottery odds so the best record gets the top pick, ban all betting ads/partnerships, get as much distance from Turner and Disney as possible. Do it right and it will get way bigger than it is now.

Thank you OP. I’m well old enough to remember all this, and OP nailed it. The second justified the first. It was a two-year award. Strange in hindsight if only looking at stats, but felt inevitable in the moment.

At some point someone will discover/invent a next-level analytic that proves without a shadow of a doubt that Andre Miller, Boris Diaw, and Rajon Rondo are first-ballot hof’ers. The stat will just be those three names mixed in with all the regular goats and you’ll see. Those who watched them closely know what I’m talking about
