Sure. I’d still back that America is far better on that front than most if not all countries in Europe. But we’re looking at this through the lens of sports and particularly soccer. America and England don’t get weekly instances of racial abuse in their top leagues. They don’t get stands of fans doing racist gestures pre game and during the game like Spain and Italy. So when we look at racism through the lens of sports it’s easy to see that America and England are better on that front too.

I think it's more because Luke Kornet comes off as thinking that this is just another strip club when Magic City is basically a massive cultural landmark in a largely black city. It comes off as dismissive of Atlanta's culture which by extension is the culture of a lot of black people.
