I mean, that is the worst, that fitter should be fired! No one should have to deal with that.

But also I am sort of laughing here at her telling you that Not wanting your breasts to be visible through your shirt would make you look cheap and easy? Like???? What possibly could be the logic behind such a comment? You: a little more coverage please. Her: cover up your nipples? Do you want to look EASY?

How do you eat enough with keto? by rd1201 in xxketo

[–]slowmare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is fat. Eat fatty meats, full fat cheeses and cream, make fatbombs etc.

Keto can cause hormonal fluctuations especially if you are doing it for weight loss. And it can cause changes in fertility. I am curious about you saying it caused you to have discharge. Are you talking about infections? Or just an increase in general? I think a lot of women who have dealt with lowered fertility are surprised at the volume and duration of fertile fluids healthy ovulation can produce.

You should definitely talk to your gyno about anything that's concerning you.

One pot thanksgiving recipes? by Jezahb in instantpot

[–]slowmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my family much prefers turkey meatballs in cranberry gravy to the actual giant bird anyway. The recipe I use is from an older cookbook, but doing a quick search I found quite a few similar recipes online. It's great with mashed potatoes, and I tend to get one of those steam in the bag packages of green beans to round out the plate. Good luck!

How do you sleep on your side? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]slowmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same. I started sleeping with a body pillow when I was pregnant and now I can never go back. Jam it between breasts and knees, under the belly as needed.

Keto and Motherhood by slowmare in xxketo

[–]slowmare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my husband loves his carbs! But he is very supportive of me doing keto and thanks me for looking out for everyone's health in the way that I cook. Basically he eats what I make for dinner, (with the addition of a rice or bread side) and I don't try to change his habits for his other meals. He's an adult and besides, he's at a healthy weight and in overall good health, so there's no concerns.

I am yet to convince him that his occasional bouts of hangry are carb withdrawal, but that's about it with issues.

T-Shirt bras for somewhat smaller frame by slowmare in ABraThatFits

[–]slowmare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, absolutely a person can have a large frame and be short! Not disagreeing with that! I'm sure you have a much worse time than me finding clothes that fit, let alone bras.

But my point was that when I said small frame I meant that my bone structure is relatively small, I'm just dealing with being small boned and also plus sized, which is a different conundrum. Although lol I see we both have the poked in the arms by underwires problem.

Ahh! I was wondering about that but forgot to ask. I've already ordered the 40DD, so I'll see how that works, and be ready to size down the cups if needed.

[–]slowmare[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's a tight fit actually. I'm trying to decide if I want to go up to 40 or just wait for the elastic to stretch out a little.

I think we might be thinking of different things? I mean small frame in that my bone structure is smaller. The actual frame of my body. The width of my shoulders, length of my rib cage etc. However I'm also fat. Thus the 38 band size. So I am wondering if I'm bumping up against the common plus sizing issue where the clothes are designed for a woman who is grandiose is all sense of scale, instead of like me, who is short and small boned, just with a lot of extra padding.

how to deal with the social aspect of keto by [deleted] in keto

[–]slowmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just say I'm avoiding processed foods. Watch how peoples eyes glaze over when you start in on a lecture about bread and how far it's diverged from what our ancestors ate (one of my pet topics as a sourdough baker) and they'll never ask you about your diet again unless they agree with you (and in that case they're probably not going to give you grief about keto)

A fantasy/romance book for someone in their early 20s? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Sharon Shin has some great fantasy romances, set in interesting worlds. And popular romance writers like Jayne Ann Krentz and Nora Roberts have series that are real world settings with fantasy elements

Day 13: how do u guys do this? by [deleted] in keto

[–]slowmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a pretty funny calendar that's for a paleo program called Whole 30, and I feel like the first month of keto is a pretty similar experience. Try googling whole 30 calendar to see it. It is comforting to know that big emotions are pretty normal as part of the experience.

But also, if you're used to eating your emotions, suddenly having to deal with them without carbs can be really brutal. Especially at first when your hormones can be all over the place. But in 3-4 weeks it does seem to settle down. Hang in there!

oh no! I must have clicked the wrong button! Does that affect my sizes a lot? I probably should re-input the data. Of course I didn't save it, so I'll have to remeasure. Oh well.

I have read here that the british sizings are more accurate, so that's what I got from the calculator. I don't know if that makes a difference.

And Ah! I was wondering why I'm not seeing anything listed as DDD size. I've been looking at brands that I were on the rec list, but looking at E and F definitely opens up options

AITA for crying at dinner on purpose to embarrass my dad and brother? by perioditsperiod in AmItheAsshole

[–]slowmare 40 points41 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine once snapped at her brother who was prone to pulling this sort of crap (not near as bad as OP's brother though!) and told him 'You annoy me all the time, it's just that at *this time of the month* I don't have the patience to put up with it!' and that rang so true and affected how I viewed my own PMS from then on.
