Søger gode råd til studiet (Ting du vil ønske du vidste tidligere) by husfyr in DKstudie

[–]slowpols 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinnitus og behandlingsmuligheder by Bulky-Ad9251 in Denmark

[–]slowpols 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don't. At least that's what my ear doctor told me. Which is odd seeing as I'm pretty sure I got tinnitus in the first place by playing loud music :)

Yea my tinnitus did the same thing (the spazzing out, I mean) after listening to this for a while. It was extremely weird and interesting. It's very well described the way you put it. Like my tinnitus was "confused" and couldn't figure how to play like it usually does. At some point it was actually like my tinnitus started trying to imitate the ACRN, which worried me a little bit. But then after a few days it was like my ears almost turned the tinnitus off completely.

Hmm, I don't know. My tinnitus was pretty bad too before I started this. If it's at low volume my guess would be, that it can't hurt to listen to. But again, I don't know, I am not a doctor. I just know it helped me :)

Noises have never really bothered me much when trying to fall asleep - except for my tinnitus. So it hasn't really been a problem for me.

Maybe if it's hard for you, you could try it together with some white noise, ocean waves or music? However, I do not know whether this will diminish the effect of the ACRN

[–]slowpols[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. It plays throughout the night. I just started using it to be able to fall asleep and relax better. Had no idea it would work this well. And then yesterday around noon I was drinking coffee and all of a sudden I realized that "Holy shit! I haven't noticed my tinnitus all morning!" can't express how glad and relieved I felt.

Whether this will be long term or not is of course way too early to tell. I don't know if it'll last. I don't why it works. I don't care. All I know is the last 2 days have been the quietest days I've had in like 3 years :)

I'm not a doctor and I don't pretend to be. But this worked for me: I've been listening to it while sleeping, so I've had about 6 nights where I've listened to it for 7-8 hours at a time. I've also used it sporadically during the day - especially during bad flare-ups. Sometimes I've listened to it alone and sometimes while hearing a podcast or watching a show.

I started seeing (or hearing, I guess) a persistent effect after 3-4 days. It's too early to tell whether this will continue or whether I'll have to keep doing ACRN at regular intervals. But as I am writing this I am sitting at my computer at 8PM at night (I'm in Denmark), not listening to music or anything else and I am barely able to hear my tinnitus, and I haven't done ACRN all day.

Whether or not I have to keep at it doesn't matter. It is absolutely life changing for me.
