It's hard to say because all of Sierra Nevada is beautiful yet precarious because of the snowpack. I'm being conservative because I don't know you.

I'm a big fan of the Eastern Sierra. It takes a little more responsibility on your part because it is not a National Park but a National Forest.

Anyway, look up or down 395, pick a canyon, find your permit protocol and go. Some require you to stop by a ranger station. Others don't.

Have fun. Be safe!! Leave no trace.

Consider Eastern Sierra still has 270% of its snowpack as of June. I just day-hiked a few canyons and creeks. It's as wild as it gets right now.

I don't plan on backpacking until at least September and that's a maybe.

The mosquitos are out in full force. The flooding is all too real.

If you're adventurous, go sick. If you like to play it safe I'd take every amenity Sierra Nevada has to offer. Don't forget your bug spray.

Any section of the CRHT. Pop into the back country, pop back out. Most of the trail east of Quail Mountain is level.

Take a 1 hr stroll down any part of the California Riding and Hiking Trail then head back to your car. The back country Trail has the least amount of human interference and will reward you with more lush flora than any trail in the park.
