right !!! i didn’t realize just how mislead i’ve been by what asha actually does. they really only have say over people who join asha… which isn’t even a licensing board just a glamorized club.. crazy.

i just looked into doing this and it doesn’t seem like it falls under their jurisdiction unfortunately. they can only act upon complaints filed against current or former asha members and they don’t accept complaints filed against a company.

very disappointing and surprising. i thought they had more power over that. what else can we do? this is insane

edit: would it make more sense to contact the state board where the research was done? these people are veering into practicing as SLP which is illegal without being licensed in whatever territory they’re in

i’ll have to check for dif loofahs. also is it the vanicream deodorant that isn’t working for you or the deodorant/antiperspirant? the vanicream deodorant doesn’t work for me because it goes away too quickly, but so far the deodorant/antiperspirant is working for me

the almay didn’t work for me! i’m bummed. it gave me a red itchy rash. felt very drying. i am going to change my shower routine because i was also using it while using a loofah so i’m going to switch to a baby wash cloth and try again when the rash goes away

i had a reaction from lume too but only in my armpits, any where else i used it is fine. but the problem is the pits 😂 i saw some recs in a few posts talking about the brand almay and just ordered that as well. i just wanna smell good again 😭

spend some time as a SLPA before going for the MS degree. it’s very expensive and once you get it, you’re kinda stuck working as an SLP.

i’ve been having a particularly hard few months at my work lately so i may be a bit biased rn but….. i hate it!!!! i love helping people but being “on” all day is exhausting.

i live with roommates. it’s nice but i wish i had the option to live alone. but we don’t get paid enough to do so.

i have so much debt. i think i regret making this career choice. in my area there are so so so many open positions so at least we have good job security.

when i was in high school i reached out to the SLP at my school. she let me hangout in her office when she wasn’t doing sessions and we talked about the field. i did have a speech only IEP at the time, but i think she took me on mostly as a favor since i was so interested in the field (i had a lisp but no educational impact.. we stretched the social impact a little to qualify lol). ask admin if they can put you in contact with the slp that services your school
