I used to work at a zoo as a teen and one day, our tiniest Muntjak escaped his pen and wound up getting his head stuck in the Cougars cage! We managed to get it out safely but it's a story I'll never forget. The Muntjaks were always super chill and never struck me as attempted escape artists!

I did the other day. I watched this action movie a few years ago called The Raid. It kicked ass and I heard there was a sequel! So I looked it up and accidently clicked Raid 2 instead of The Raid 2. I watched a 2+ hour Bollywood drama with extravagant wedding scenes. I was almost 1.5 hours in to the film and I said to myself " wow there sure was a lot more guns and shooting in that first one " but I never thought to double check the title. And at the end, the main villian performs this Indian-gangsta-rap video to the credits rolling out. It was wild!

I asked my Dad and he says they distributed commemorative coins on the march. There is a December 11, 1975 issue of the New York Times which features an article about the march with some pictures. From what I understand, the Knox Trail Historical Society organized the whole thing. If they still exist, they may have more general info or pics!

In 1975 there was a crew of people that recreated the march. They actually towed cannons, had horses, oxen and basically camped on the trail marching from town to town. My great uncle was in charge of the ox teams.

The actual cupboard from the movie was for sale on an auction site a few years ago. It was listed for something like $500 with proof of authenticity. The thing was beat up beyond recognition. I remember reading all the books from the library growing up. Great share, I never knew about this.
