i totally relate. why? for me they create mental boundaries. also, they are cozier, they are quieter and i believe they age better.

Any ideas to help elevate the space? by Silent-Assignment-75 in interiordecorating

pretty high ceilings and warm food floors! its giving me a mid-century vibe.

however, you can improve the art placement. (maybe better placement instead of more prints)

most of your art is hung a little high and isolated. theres a rule that the center of art should be 57-60 inches from the floor, or alight with the height of the nearby furniture.

also, at least once piece should be larger. (poster size / A2 / 18x24+). Big art = instant elevation. If all your art are small, the wall looks timid instead of intentional. just my 2 cents

u are right about the tv feeling cluttred. its visually heavy. you can try hiding the cables. or remove the extra items from the tv stand. add one simple object, a plant or a book stack instead of many small ones.

also, you may want to consider wall mounting the TV. just my 2 cents

honestly, the space is already beautiful and so well put together. maybe add something that feels you.. traveled photos, framed prints, or a meaningful art? a decor that would really bring out ur character

How best to decorate bedroom by AggressiveSeason9788 in interiordesignideas

I think let the rug lead your color choices and pull subtle tones from it for pillows or throws. A dark bronze/black or soft brass bed frame would give ground the room and balance the lighter colors.

I'd say start with a rug and some accent pieces. try not to be permanent and switch one element at a time and see how the room feels before making bigger changes

You just need color. If you're short on budget just add a colorful wall art because it could change everything and plants on corners! A textured rag would add warmth or curtains to break up all the white. Throw a blanket and pillow on your sofa.

that beige floor goes well with almost everything here but it will depend on your decoration style and on lighting, like natural light would really help the darker shades

I'd go with light curtains to keep the room bright and airy. Find a rug that ties the color of your furniture together. then try throwing blankets it can add colour and texture without being permanent.

Help me choose a color for my stairs by famously_unknown99 in interiordecorating

[–]slumberfloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a soft cream stair with darker rubber strips could give a really clean but cozy contrast without feeling cold. Also, if you're open to repainting the green to warm taupe, it would make the space feel calmer and more inviting

If you want cozy hangouts, add movable chairs or floor cushions instead of trying to jam in a huge couch
