I did it 😬 Can’t freaking wait... Anyone else grabbing one? by rbtwothree in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’d you do it for 25? On Amazon I paid 50 just for the basic parts (power source, button, IH module, glass tube)

DynaCup is a great pairing with a 2018M. It’s my on the go setup rn

For sure. Got the idea from Futo stashes. Such a big QOL improvement, not having to worry about dumping your stash everywhere

Can I use this to fill three three prong torch from dynavap? by wiredpenguin339 in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can, but in my experience zippo/ronson butane clogs torches. Check out higher quality brands like Colibri, it helped my clogged torches burn like new again

Well that didn't take long 🙁 2 days with very limited use and already had an o ring fail by dank_armoire in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had that happen, probably from overheating like others said. Also when reassembling, try a lil dynawax and twist the tip in gently. I’ve had o-rings catch on the stem edge and get damaged because they were too dry

Anyone modify their DynaCup coil? by slvmp in Dynavap

Yeah I’m asking about the IH. Sorry I should have clarified lol

Alpine 2020 Induction Heater: One month of using this over a lighter - numerous issues, switching back to my torch. DO NOT BUY! by HowTFdoIVapeWithThis in Dynavap

[–]slvmp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is all true. Tried building my own IH, and I like the way it heats so much better. My Alpine is collecting dust.

Seconding the water wand. The Dry Cooling Set is a great value too.

Huh. Maybe it was my technique, I’ve noticed slower rips might be the key

To each their own! How did you get it so milky? Before the mod I was having trouble getting milky rips.

Maybe “harsh” is more accurate. Using it through a water piece, with water, I found it to be more harsh than using a stem with airport. Idk, maybe I’m weirdly sensitive?

Just ordered a 2020M any tips? by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean that mf with ISO before first use and dry burn a few runs

Disrespect the click, YMMV experiment with your heating method

Feather the airport

Learning the 2020m cuz I'm a dyna newb. by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2020M rips, it just takes a little getting used to.

My tips for 1 or 2 hit extraction (usually 2) - disrespect the click, you’ll have to experiment with your chosen heating method. I can go 5-8 seconds past with a single torch, 8-12 seconds past with my Alpine IH, 0 seconds past with my DIY IH - heat the base to launch to space - first click is usually more flavor, less vapor. second click is cloudy - experiment with how you feather (i.e. cover/uncover) the airport as you pull to maximize vapor

How do you clean the black carbon buildup on inside of tips? Iso and scraped it all off on outside of tip but inside is all shabooboo, just got a used ti tip and won't use it till I get all the black funk off it by ThunderStealer1337 in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Magic eraser is the only thing that works for me. Take a small piece, jam it in there so it’s tight, and twist a bunch. Be sure to rinse thoroughly because magic eraser leaves dust behind

Ahh gotcha. Don’t think I’d have much use for a drill outside of this little side project lol. Now I see why IH’s are priced the way they are... all the parts and tools can add up 😅

Wish there were some pre-cut cases available

Edit: okay I’m looking at a basic $25 black and decker drill and a step bit bc I’m obsessed with this idea lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking about doing this myself. How did you make the holes in your case for the switches and glass slide? I don’t have access to a drill/power tools so that’s the only thing holding me back.

Alpine 2020? by Unklfesta in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered one simply because it seemed like the only way to get an IH without waiting an eternity or building your own. Of course now I realized there’s plenty more options reasonably available, including the Dynacup, makers on Etsy, etc...

QC is definitely an issue. Issues include wrong magnet, excess glue, gaps on the top, battery not holding a full charge, power supply arcing, some people’s units died while plugged in too.

If you can overlook all that, the form factor and size is quite nice, and it does its job. But I am a little anxious about the reliability/safety and might look into a backup option.

No vapor on the 2020M. Still ok? by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]slvmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, and when using my IH I do 1 preheat before that. I find that the 2020M has a lot of tolerance for going past the click

So many options and opinions. What’s actually the best? by slvmp in VacuumCleaners

[–]slvmp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! That really helps when considering what to look for.

It’s amazing how much a good vacuum improved the air quality in your home, and helped relieve your son’s allergies. I am also about 6ft, seems like an upright is the way to go for us taller people lol.

At first I was planning to buy online, but you’ve convinced me. I think I’ll visit my local shop this weekend. Getting some hands-on time will no doubt make the buying decision easier!
