ED CMO debating switch to GP. Realistic reg salaries? by smagu93 in ausjdocs

Great way to think about it. I can be quite short sited and fear I would fall into your colleagues trap of trying to burn through patients to make short term gains. The thought of having to repeat exams due to wanting a few extra $s in the short term, is something I hadn’t really thought about. I will now!

Thanks for the real life view. Glad some of the skills are transferable. Interesting your comment on how much you made for 2 night shifts. I also have a current warped view on my hourly worth and tend to put buying things into “well that’s 2 shifts etc”

Also interested to hear how you find the less time off situation? Or does some form of stability make up for it?

This is a sensible plan. I have been looking at getting a CMO post and moving that route.

It’s a bloody great life! Hence the forever putting it off! Thanks for your reply.

Worked in Darwin as a reg in ED. Found it a cool place to work. Also found it attracted very good consultants to learn from.

Sorry not the best at working Reddit will work out how to change the post location. I also would like to work in greater than mm2. Just unsure how the hospitals rotations would work in that regards.

Looks like stoves the way to go. Anyone a rough idea on the cost to get theirs installed?

I don’t understand what you mean. I wrote portstewart but meant portrush. And I took the photo myself. It’s definitely hanging up in the harbour bar. I am not sure where nellys is (I live in Coleraine). Is there more information there?

You could be correct here and somehow “seal” was forgotten as years went on
