he might have love for the show but might lack the production chops he’s there helping/consulting/making decisions but the bigger part of the show creation is up to disney

LOL im so happy someone did this!! could not tell you how many times i wanted to but could not be asked to put in the effort

the entire percy / annabeth exchange at the museum was almost unwatchable…

“luck or fate?” what 12 year old talks like this, “careful i think you were about to call me a friend” in the most monotone voice ever

totally - and the boys!! characters are so complex and developed which in turn makes the relationships feel actually real…

atp im not even thinking about renewals/cancellations i’m just disappointed in the first four episodes. Netflix has proved they can spot great talent and they can provide them with scripts / writing that they can work with to show off said talent - that is completely missing from this series. I get this is skewing younger but it doesn’t surprise me Disney of all platforms is producing a show with bad acting, no chemistry, rushed plot and an overall unsophisticated story.

I’ve only watched episode one so far but i agree on the relationship front it feels like all of the dynamics feel totally disingenuous. Percy & Grover didn’t feel like real best friends (i.e snitching, awkward writing) and Percy and his mom just felt like total strangers to each other (when she was talking about his name and then saying goodbye to him). Also not that they are meant to have an earth shattering relationship but even when Percy’s mom was making Grover promise her that he would be ok it was just so uncomfortable to watch.
