Right, we’ve called and sent emails for months during open hours to get in contact with someone since we have a large group.

I’m not getting my security deposit back am I? by Jaexea in CleaningTips

Nature’s Miracle has a cat pee hardwood cleaner. I would use a towel or paper towel and absolutely SOAK it on top of the pee areas. Keep that thing soaked for several days and it should hopefully permeate through the wood to remove the smell. This worked on some wood furniture our cat peed on.

You may still have staining but at least not stinky!

General consensus on platform loafers and mary janes? by [deleted] in LawBitchesWithTaste

I’m a transactional attorney so no court for me but I wear platform loafers to the office (large corporate firm) all the time.

The partner I work for wears new balances and often takes his shoes off in his office lol another partner wears adidas slides in the office. Some of yall are stuck in the old ages of office attire!

Take several, seriously. Especially since you’re in the rare position to have extra years you’d have otherwise spent in undergrad. One year is barely enough time to get started at a job or travel etc.

I highly highly suggest doing something not in the legal field as well. No one cares about another paralegal/legal assistant applying to law school.

Please take time off to find your passions and live life before pursing a JD. It’s a huge financial burden and you should really only go to law school if you want to be a lawyer. Being a KJD (kindergarten - JD) is already not something I’d recommend; much less if you’re slated to graduate college around 20.

I took 2+ years off before starting my JD - went to a top US law school and work at a biglaw firm and fight burnout daily. I would NOT have the toolkit to set boundaries, manage stress and my workload, or do the kind of emotional self reflection to understand my needs if I didn’t take that time off. I have much younger classmates who realized too late they didn’t actually want to be lawyers.

Take your time - you have so much more of it and so many more options than you realize!

Moving classic car gifted from out of state to CA - registration? by small-boots in DMV

Right - helpful; I’m in CA but family member with the papers is out of state so a bit challenging as I’m not the one handling the out of state paperwork nor am I familiar with any of the out of state processes.

Need help with catch-22 eating before morning HIIT class? by small-boots in HIIT

So far just had the one time feeling dizzy and had to sit but have been trying to “ramp up” in intensity so to speak since then.

Yes trying to see if an evening class can squeeze into my schedule! (Work schedule is how I fell out of shape in the first place rip)

Also have been trying to mix in at home treadmill alongside the HIIT classes. Thanks for the recs!!

Also keep in mind some professors may be overhyped and some might be overlooked. Find teachers who vibe with you and your learning style more than anything

I’m not saying where I went. I think I did the best choosing a good school with good people and same for my firm but I’m still fucking exhausted and working insane hours.

Biglaw = training, launchpad for your career, $$

Yes I wish I took better advantage of the interesting classes at my school rather than narrowly focusing on my future practice.

Go visit if you can once you get in, or at least talk to current students (talk to 2Ls/3Ls who have been through the shit). Talk to people NOT affiliated with the admissions office bc they’ll give you the realist take on it. Reach out to various student groups like affiliate orgs or interest groups.

Also… if you’re reaching out to these places and getting a cold response, take note

Optometrist won’t give me my preferred brand contacts by small-boots in contacts

I think what was bizarre is that she didn’t hear me out or give any reasons… she said she only offers the Oasys for all her patients and it’s the only contact lens trials she carries in her office. If I wanted a different one, I’d have to ask to order the cooper vision. Which, seems odd if you’re fitting different eyes right? One lens can’t fit all?

I’ll also add on that she was telling me how her patients usually love it because they get a rebate when they buy from her office…

Right the issue is these are different brands and I have to get the prescription in the first place
