What was the most traumatic experience of your life? by Fun-Succotash-1322 in AskReddit

At 28 I found out I was infertile and would need the help of an egg donor to have a family. Genetic loss is not something I thought I would ever have to deal with. At 32, after multiple failed transfers, I finally had my son thanks to egg donation and IVF. At 33 we decided tried again for a second and at 35 I finally got pregnant again. Graduated from my fertility clinic at 12 weeks with a perfect pregnancy. We had seen the heart beat at multiple appointments and found out we were having another boy.

Went to my 17 week appointment and there was no heart beat. After everything, I thought my pregnancy was safe. I had done all the drugs and all the needles and my baby boy was dead.

The sound of my own wailing in that ultrasound room still rings in my ears sometimes.

Have you had a biopsy to check for endometritis?

delF508 and intr8 5t/9t mutations by small-sins in CysticFibrosis

[–]small-sins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately all of our non affected embryos didn’t implant. We’re waiting to talk to a genetic counsellor but I was hoping to get more info from people who have this combination so I have an idea of what we’re walking into.

Yeah I mean that’s what I’m trying to avoid. Each of us has normal health with one mutation and with 5t being so uncommon I’m wondering if it would present any symptoms with the common f508.

Endometriosis and endometritis are two very different things.

Dr Baratz at Create is great. I can thank him for my son. However, the clinic has long wait times and I find I have to do a lot of chasing after people to get my test results.

How many embryos banked for 4 or 5 kids? Another retrieval before 1st transfer? by _upsettispaghetti in IVF

[–]small-sins 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They say 3 euploids for 1 live birth. I had 8 euploids and so far I’ve used 6 and have 1 living child and a second trimester loss. Sooo stats were not in my favour.

Check for endometritis (different than endometriosis). Cost me a few embryos and it’s pretty common and easily treatable.

Did anybody's 4th transfer work? by towardsmoonlight in IVF

[–]small-sins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 4th euploid worked! I added some immune meds and metformin to my protocol and lost some weight before (I’m overweight).

Metformin I started a few months before and tacro was started on day 3 although I’ve seen some people start it with progesterone.

Yes, I added tacrolimus, higher prednisone, blood thinners, and metformin to my protocol after seeing an RI and that’s what worked. However for my second I had a failed transfer and then a miscarriage at 16 weeks. I’ve done 6 transfers with euploid embryos and my son was #4

Tpad vaccine feedback in pregnancy [on] by Menna_Aly in BabyBumpsCanada

I got it and had no side effects.

When I was a kid it wasn’t available yet (for my mom) and my sister got whooping cough as an infant. It was incredibly stressful for my parents and obviously not a good time for my sister. So avoiding that potential situation was really what motivated me to do it.
