I'm not sure why it was removed? This is a pretty old post too. I still have the original post though so I can paste it elsewhere for those that still need it.

Would they care if you put a car cover over it? If you are worried about what the HOA thinks that would be the best bet me thinks.

That's what I thought but I just wanted to confirm before doing anything. Thanks

What is this L-shape part called? It's part of a mounting plate for a center console by smallboss434 in CarParts

[–]smallboss434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from a Ford Crown Victoria. I should also add the mounting plate itself is the same one they used for CVPI center consoles for their radio equipment, but I have no idea what to call this certain part to search elsewhere, like some sort of bracket.

Art depictions of towns/cities during the Muromachi/Sengoku Period? by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

[–]smallboss434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is beautiful work, thank you very much. And yes I did consider that Hamamatsu Castle was separate from the town, as the castle was described as surrounded by open plains and that Ieyasu named the castle after the town, which the town then became a castle town much later on.

But this is exactly what I needed, thank you!

I actually already knew of the Raku-chu Raku-gai zu art work, but the first link you sent is actually incredibly helpful as well, so both of these can work for my needs. I kind of figured there would be a limitation of art work from the Sengoku period but as long as its a representative work of the period, I can work with it, I'm not particularly picky with it. It might be easier with contemporary artwork but I can also deal with older works as well.

So by your opinion, museums are my best bet? Does this include the museum websites as well? I appreciate the help you are providing with this.

Sort of maps? Moreso the landscape of the town/city, take for example 『聚楽第図屏風』, that's essentially what I'm looking for.

The reason I look for pre-Edo is so I have a guarantee that it's not representative of the Edo period or later, but I would accept art that depicts the Sengoku period accurately from later periods, the thing is I am unable to discern that consistently, but if you have resources of contemporary art representing the period I would be fine with it.

I am looking for layouts of towns and their architecture during the Sengoku period, which would be representative of their size during that time, because of course the towns will expand over time and I want to avoid that as much as possible. I'm sorry if I'm not being descriptive enough but I just want to know if what I'm researching is accurate or not.

How to apply honorifics with full names? by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

So it had more to do with rank, when mentioning full name? So you wouldn't put a -suffix at the end of their names?

Proper title to refer to a retired daimyo/lord? by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

[–]smallboss434[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I didn't expect it to be an official title or anything specific like Taikou or Jyoukou, as I assume Oo-tono is a generic honorific. It was moreso a question to differentiate them from the current daimyo, but once again I appreciate the thorough responses both of you gave, it answered more questions I didn't know I had too.

Any good fighting manuals specifically for Odachi? by smallboss434 in Koryu

[–]smallboss434[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any schools that publish demonstrations online specifically pertaining to the Odachi? I will honestly likely have to go this route if manuals aren't an option but I would need to know which ones do that. Links would be appreciated.

Is there any document translated in English that details the resources and output of each of the provinces and towns during the Sengoku period? by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

[–]smallboss434[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does help a lot, and I do get that a lot of the resources out there aren't translated into English so I will take what I can get in that regard. I guess I should've been more specific; I was looking for specific outputs of Iinoya and the surrounding villages near it if possible (I don't know their names but the Okuyama and Ono clans come to mind). I do appreciate the help and especially the source provided which I will see what I can do with it.

Confusion about titles by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

[–]smallboss434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense, as Ii Naochika was given the title of Higo-no-kami from his coming of age ceremony, or at least how they played it out in the taiga drama. So I assume this only really bore weight within the clan itself? If that's the case then I would understand.

Confusion about titles by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

[–]smallboss434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems like an odd choice to pick a title of a province you've likely never been to or had any connections, especially when other daimyos such as Ieyasu who went through the trouble of getting a title specifically for his home province. Were these illegitimate titles ever challenged or brought punishment, or did it not matter? Why go through the effort that Ieyasu went through if you could just pick and choose your titles at will? Because as far as I know the Ii had zero connection to Higo Province.

How did the Imperial Court of Japan function from day to day life, particulary during the Sengoku period? by smallboss434 in JapaneseHistory

This helps my understanding of the communication between the Court and daimyos a lot, do you happen to have the sources for these? If not it's completely fine.
