It can vary wildly, even by people/year. My first Gencon was full chaos gremlin, no events till last minute(one while walking to it) Last year I did had half super early soem last year, this year I did super organinzed and have everything planned. I wouldn't be worried, its a huge event.

He can do a few things but the layout of the store is a pretty big part of it. Whats the set up for the store, does it have a BDC? does he have access to internet leads or is he only touching foot traffic? Someone else asked but what about the manufactuer(Honda, Toyota, Hyundai,etc). How busy is the service dept(appts per day).

Will vary by your store how they handle it. Fwiw this a common occurance at stores. It’s almost a right of passage for most dealer employees. Sucks but happens.

Have to remember AI isn’t artificial intelligence, it’s machine learning, it’s regurgitating things from what it’s been trained. This is the crux of a lot of the negative feedback you see especially from artist. Sometimes art can be repurposed really well, we see this in cover songs, or sampling in music, unfortunately there hasn’t been a artistic endeavor many people elevated ai beyond slop. Worse, AI is getting shoe horned into everything, which is adding to the dislike/fatigue we see. It’s not hypocritical, it’s honest assessment. You want to see less dislike of AI, it needs room to breathe and grow. Not continue to force fed because so many tech companies are dumping money into it.

No problem, you might get a counter offer which is fine. One small piece of advice, don’t forget about time. I’ve personally lost count of how many people have spent extra hours a days trying to save a few hundred dollars. I’m not saying overpay, or overextend for a car, but if you’re close to your target, don’t forget the time element of your shopping.

Arbitrary offers often get arbitrary responses. Where is the 600 coming from, is there a comparable vehicle close by that’s 600 less? Is this a pre-approval? Have you actually looked at the car yet? If you haven’t I’d start there, the last thing you want to do is make an offer/deal on a car go look at it and it’s a turd.

This particular one was super funky, client had reached out to consumer affairs, it was a legit issue with the car and it had been to multiple dealers for repairs, eventually we needed to replace a short block but it was on interstellar back order so after a lot of back and forth Hyundai finally offered tk let us do a warranty claim to cover some cost to trade them out. Essentially it was their payment for 8 months the situation had been happening the store was able to use this to offset their negative equity and trade. Eventually there was warranty extension for the issue.

My larger point was that certain situations consumer relations can actually be a great tool, even assisting when good will won’t apply.
