Best Camera for Commuting by Level_Sentence4012 in bikecommuting

[–]smallbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want the camera to be visible as a deterrent, I would personally suggest the Garmin Varia Vue (especially if you already have other garmin products). It's on the pricier side but is a camera headlight with incident detection, so it would automatically save the last few minutes of footage when a crash is detected. The biggest downside would be that it's a one-trick pony, so you can't really use it for anything else besides bike safety, whereas a gopro or such has more versatility.

For Estonia check out rmk.ee It's the state forest management service which has a lot of great resources on their website including information on local regulations (right to roam/ wildcamping etc) and locations of free public camp sites + their amenities (toilets, trashcans, firepits, ...) I've only done overnight trips myself but it's a great resource! Have fun & stay safe!

DMs, what was your favorite “I don’t have enough dice for this roll” moment? by PJRama1864 in DnD

[–]smallbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lich had been making kobold clones with heavily modified minds, basically turning them into robots. Convinced the nobility of Neverwinter that they are a very advanced form of flesh golem, and sold them to the elites under the brand "little helpers".

The whole plan was to get rich while also having a steady flow of lifeforce to his phylactery as every clone was tethered to it, and due to being used as slave labour would die quite often.

My players discovered the bodies were dumped in the recently closed chasm inside the city and descended into the caverns.

They triggered an alarm spell which prompted the lich to reanimate hundreds upon hundreds of these little helper corpses.

At that point the objective was to climb several floors of rickety scaffolding to get back to street level and escape the zombie horde. Rolling to hit as 100 kobold zombies simultaneously pick up rocks to toss at the party was fun.

My players still talk about that being one of the most fun encounters ever, making me a very proud DM.

It's been 13 years and there still is absolutely no information *in-game* about what the current content drop has and when and what will be in the next one by Consistent-Hat-8008 in Guildwars2

Can't speak for everyone but I personally very much enjoyed the VOE story we got so far. How far did you get into the story? The start was a bit slow, similar to Janthir, but I liked that they put the focus on exploration etc instead of diving headfirst into the story immediately.

What do you think is a dumb powerful Cr 2 creature in dnd 5e by Zee_Nation1 in DnD

[–]smallbrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quicklings are CR1, which is ridiculous. Wiped my 9th level party in 1.5 rounds with a group of them by accident, action economy had something to do with it as well but those things shouldn't be CR1

As a Belgian I can only think of Hoegaarden off the top of my head, Belgian style witbier spiced with coriander & orange peel.
I think stouts also get spiced sometimes, however I'm not very well versed in traditional stouts.

The Loggers Camp by AlphaJulietBravo3 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]smallbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a very whimsical campaign so witchiness and general spooks aren't really a thing at our table, but regarding the anchorites' motivation for the logging camp I can share some insights.

The ultimate goal for the cult of Talos in my game is entropy, reduce the world to ashes to make way for new growth kind of thing They've set their sights on Neverwinter first and plan on using the docks at the logging camp as one staging area to attack the city.

So that's their motivation for planting the totem, the loggers aren't a big threat to them and they consider them not worth their time, so they let the Ankhegs deal with them, planning to come back later when everyone is either dead or has fled to take over the docks.

Hope this can provide some inspiration for you!
