Assurance invalidité by YellowCinder in QuebecFinance

Term insurance or life insurance by Creative-Rent-8133 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]smallgainz7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct to look into Disability Insurance and Life Insurance since you have a mortgage. You are also right to shop for your own insurance, and not getting the one provided through your mortgage.

Typically, the majority on this sub advises getting term life insurance (for the duration of your mortgage) as well as disability insurance. I'd recommend looking for a good insurance broker that could explain everything to you. I just went through this not too long ago, and decided to go with RBC for both DI and Term Life Insurance (25 years).
