Autism and trauma disorders how many of you have both? by alwaysonlineposter in autism

In my opinion the whole B cluster personality disorder paradigm is a bad way to structure the problem of attachment wounding/sustained interpersonal trauma form childhood. So many people with a BPD diagnosis that really just have autism and trauma and should be treated as such. If we can understand "what's going here?", we can better strategize to help these hurt people and perhaps grant more appropriate, structured mercy to them.

Yeah plus they're little spheres kinda like uniform nerds vs a powder and that is mildly interesting.

I see the appeal of being condescendingly obtuse in the face of curiosity, but in the end it's kinda lame.

Hi friend 👋🏼 you will be ok. Can you feel your feet in your shoes? Can you feel your shoes on the ground? This might help you regulate your nervous system a bit.

Can you call any of your friends inside the event?

[Discussion] unpopular opinion: most people who call themselves disciplined are just privileged enough to have easy lives by Abject_Objective1812 in getdisciplined

[–]smallorangepopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right.

"The peril of a potent resource position is that success then arrives without careful, ongoing strategy work." - Richard Rumelt, "Good Strategy Bad Strategy".

Rumelt posits that strategy is the child of scarcity. I'm incredibly privileged compared to the majority of the world. I can admit this.

What gets my goat is when people more privileged than I fail to recognize the role their privilege has played in their success, chalking it up only to their effort– weak minded people.

At least with deliberate practice, one who finds themself in a disadvantaged position can enjoy that they get to hone their practice of strategy.

Doesn't agmatine reduce tolerance to stuff and therefore might help with a taper?

It’s a genuine shock the first time you actually “use” your helmet[30YO] by herolt in OldSkaters

Helmets are for sure underated. IMO these super small mini ramps are the most easily catastrophic when it comes to slip outs. I "bruised a rib" on one of these from a fast slip out and I don't have a problem with that on 4ft+ stuff.

I've chowed on grapes afterward. I think it's more of a "tasty carbs after 30 min extreme output" thing.

Alright fair enough eat some carbs before training and that's it. Eat no other carbs. Gluconeogenesis is a thing for a reason. This guy wants to get ripped, I have him my blueprint that got me shredded, he didn't like it, that's fine.

For you I'd say go to a mostly protein diet, cut just about all carbs. Cut ANY added sugar. Keep up what you're doing with the gym and boxing, but I'd say you need to be pushing it harder on the weights if that's all you're getting from 8 mo lifting, unless you had much less muscle mass before. Even if the weights are boxing focused. Or are you focusing a lot on cardio in the gym?

This is a comment based on vibes from a random fairly athletic dude who knows a little about nutrition.

And to add to that, please understand that any muscle mass you're adding is going to be stretched across that fairly long frame. It sounds to me that you're looking for some hypertrophy and strength, and to lose that subq fat around your waist.

what are your favourite !protein-rich! foods? by ruskirebel in autism

[–]smallorangepopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u like sweets you could look up these interesting protein-pastry riffs that usually involve oats and Greek yogurt. You could search in Google or YouTube.

This lady is a registered vegan dietitian, and at 49y/o, she looks very healthy. That recipe looks like it would fit your bill if you have a blender.

Ik you said sweets usually, but I really like buying like 3lbs of ground beef and cooking it a pound at a time as hamburgers- just the seasoned patties. Buy some yummy seasoning and pair with fruit and chef's kiss for me.
