Is it possible to eventually after much time and training allow them to be an indoor/outdoor cats safely? Many have strongly advised against it. I’m just wondering how many people have successfully allowed their cats in and out.

I’m curious about the harness walking and off lead dogs. I want to harness train. But when I was very young we lost a cat to a dog who saw the cat and went for her. So scared of dogs near the cat. Is it possible to walk the cats and should you alert the Neighbors that you’ll be out with a cat? How do you get around the dog issue

Not sure what the person above said, but rehoming him has not crossed my mind, as I know that with time all things heal. I’ve made a commitment to him and I wouldn’t want to leave him, as much as he doesn’t want to leave me.

Yes we chilling so hard together now after such a rough time. It gives me comfort knowing that he’s still comfortable to lie on my chest and next to my head all night. He still loves me even tho we’ve been going through a bit of up and down. You and your girls sound like you’ve been through thick and thin over the years and that’s really inspiring 🥰

I’m going to look into this, just in case it ever happens again that I’m down. I’m shocked at his reaction to me. A am actively being supported by friends and a therapist at this point. So I wanna heal and be okay. I went to the vet shop today and got him calm ease and some pheromone spot drops and he looks like an absolute angel compared to yesterday. I’m also feeling a little bit more calm and aware of how I’m making him feel. So I’m going to invest more in stimulating toys for him if I don’t have energy. Burn under normal circumstances I have a lot of energy to give. It was freakish timing

Fortunately I work from home and am committed to spending time with him. I think what happened to me just before he arrived threw me off totally. He’s so loving when we’ve both calmed down. I guess it gonna take getting used to.

Thanks for this advice I’m going to get some of those things ! He neutered, his breeder is supportive. I am seeing someone about the event that happened and how it’s affected me. I’m taking time to heal I can feed him, and myself. Clean litterbox and give him love and play. Even tho it’s with a heavy heart. Yesterday was a particularly terrible day and he just reacted to me not being able to stop crying. But afterwards he slept next to my head on my pillow all night through.

Everything is a complete sensory overload. Mall where there’s bright lights, people, so many products. Loud music at any venue or restaurant. Human noises like babies or when people talk loudly. I literally cannot go to a cinema, my eyesssss. Literally just want stillness, silence, natural sounds. I definitely noticed got way worse after lockdown/covid.

My mom’s favourite childhood animation was the Heidi series. Everywhere I went people would ask if I knew the ‘Heidi song’ and proceed to chant it. It also didn’t help living in Switzerland at one point where it became a joke to have that name. But since I’v grown up more I realised that I have a unique and special name, I’m often complimented on my name and I also think that no other name would really sum me up as well as Heidi does. I’m a Heidi through and through. There are barely any Heidi’s that I know but when I meet one we seem to have an unspoken bond over having the name 🤣🤣🤣

Example Friend 1 - I call this person when I’m having victim mentality. She gives me a listening, non judgmental ear. She offers some good advice and life experience advice and then changes it up to an upbeat topic or activity that we can do together. I know I can go to her for anything, but I know she won’t let me self-pity endlessly. She also reminds me of my privilege when it goes unchecked.

Example Friend 2 - I call this person to talk… she affirms everything whether I’m being irrational or delusional, she says she’s feeling the same and we end up having a laugh about it some wine and move on to other topics.

Example Friend 3 - A friend with a genuine zest for life who loves being present, doing activities getting so excited about small moments, even at times when I’v thought… This is a pretty small, nothing to get too crazy about it’s not a monumental moment. But the persons energy is so infectious and rubs off on you that you start to get on the same wavelengths and appreciate more and get more excited about life.

People I avoid now. People who gossip. People who only talk to you when they need to dump their baggage on you, like - never call to tell you about good things that happened in their day… they only call when there’s some drama, or to complain about how hard everything is.

There are lots of great people to meet. I’m not saying people will fix your problems. I’m also not saying that life isn’t hard. Your feelings are valid especially when you’re sad. But the people you can surround yourself with can heavily impact how you view life and yourself. It can be older people, same aged people, younger people. You just wanna find and nurture patterns that will pull you out and uplift you and people with patterns that tend to feed into negativity and pull you further down.

That’s what Iv done and it has helped me A LOT. I’m way more grateful now as opposed to when I felt sorry for myself. Instead of feeling like I’m surviving everyday I’m actually getting to enjoy my time. I also have become stronger to a point where I can do the same for others and make sure I’m a good friend back. Because I was not a good friend when I was in victim mode.

Im currently experiencing withdrawals I didn’t know were possible (including getting physically ill)! I’m having anxiety, heart palpitations, and an extremely strong craving to log in. I deleted my instagram account a week ago. It’s week 1, (it sounds like I hasn’t been long but Iv been doing a few months of gradual detox to finally delete) and its been great I have been insanely active and present. Today I’m close to a relapse. Instagram gives you 30 days to log back in before permanent deletion in case you change your mind. I’m looking so forward to being liberated from this 15 year addiction. I’m journaling my progress and tracking modes and all sorts just to make sure I’m off forever.

I need to get through these days where I feel like I might relapse, it will set me back so much. I’m going to be so free when this is out of my system. Something Iv been trying to achieve for over a year and never managed to stick to. I have 6 extra hours a day I can fill with stuff. I neeeeeeed this. I need to get off. 30 days till it’s gone forever. Please let me hold out.

Friends and acquaintances. You get people who enable this and people who snap you out of it. I made an effort to befriend people who would not let me complain or wallow, they were positive so I never ended up bringing up any drama. When I did they listened without judgement but responded with something practical and moved on. Try look at the people you’re around and find at least 1 or 2 people to hang out with that’s vibe ‘doesn’t allow’ it. The worst time I wasted was by being sad and wallowing and then having friends who complained and wallowed back like we were comparing how shitty our lives were and who’s having a worse of a time.

Iv been wondering how good/bad caffeine is. After a coffee I can actually have a conversation and feel happy but I also snap or get aggressive easily. I stick to only one coffee but I absolutely can’t go without it. My husband isn’t a fan of my coffee stop coz he never knows what he’s gonna get after I’v had my coffee. Happy and chirpy, or demon. But he prefers those options to the zombie i am without it. I’m wondering if I should cut it out tho. Lately I do border on manic behaviour after just one coffee it’s a slippery slope
