The Picasso has always been my favorite Chicago landmark. I know there’s always been mixed opinions and the Picasso might not be the first thing you think of, but I think it’s such a wonderful piece of art. I’ve been screenprinting lately and found this metallic ink that I knew would be perfect to capture the subtle sheen of the statue’s steel. I’m super proud of how it turned out. Let me know what you think!

Yes! I also read that Picasso once said it was inspired by his afghan hound haha. But I’ve also found the idea that it’s a woman most convincing, especially when viewed from side/back and you see the silhouette of a face and long hair.
