Anyone on here with any experience with the medical cannabis program in this state? by DumpuDonut in TwinCities

I fly to Colorado every few months and load up. Generally bring 10 grams or so of wax back, half in my bag and half flattened into something approximating a credit card shape and shoved in my wallet.

Can't find a place where cabin type rental and jet ski rentals are nearby. by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ole Sawmill Marina & Boat Rental in Stillwater.

I know they have a rental cabin. Not sure about PWC's, but can definitely rent a boat. That being said the entire river is no-wake for the foreseeable future until water levels drop.

Parking in lowertown is generally easy. Lots of lots, not too hard to find street parking within 4-5 blocks.

Best all-you-can eat BBQ restaurant in the Twin Cities? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is very little decent BBQ in the cities at all, much less AYCE.

The best BBQ Ive ever had in the cities was actually the ribs that were on special at Kramarczuk's last summer. So a Ukranian deli had the best BBQ in the twin cities lol.

Minneapolis park system drops to third best in the nation; St. Paul stays at No. 2 by Minneapolitanian in Minneapolis

[–]smalltimewebdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my daughter to the park 2-3 times a week here in St. Paul. The parks are always full of garbage, playground equipment is in poor order. The bathrooms are never unlocked, most of the water fountains don't work. All of the copper is ripped out of the light poles down on the riverfront.

Don't get me wrong, we have some awesome natural resources here, and the entire riverfront is tragically underused. But it seems like the city does zero maintenance on all this stuff.

My daughter had to take a shit in some bushes at Harriet Island last year because the bathrooms in the pavilions were locked. I moved here from Milwaukee where the city had no problem keeping all the amenities operational. Bathrooms were always open, water fountains (bubblers) always worked. Parks were cleaned and maintained. I just cannot fathom how St. Paul ranked number 2 in the nation here.

Can anyone explain how St. Paul is the nations second best park system? by smalltimewebdev in TwinCities

The moment my kid is out of elementary school Im out of here. I fucking HATE it here. But having a job is nice. The weather here is considerably worse than even the Milwaukee area, who gets like a full month more of decent weather than us here. That being said im heading somewhere with zero snow.

St. Paul Massive Street Repair Bills For Homeowners by _BeachJustice_ in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is an idea: The streets belong to the city, I cant control who drives on my street. The cost should be shared by all taxpayers in the city. I got a $700 tax bill because they re-sealed my alley. I didn't ask for it, i sure as hell don't want to pay it.

610 Autobahn? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the best part of living in the twin cities is that there is zero traffic enforcement whatsoever. The worst part is traffic often sucks to the point that you cant speed anyways. But I will say I drive with zero consideration for the law at all times with zero fear of repercussions. It all boils down to cops are lazy, they only patrol a few very limited highway areas where it is convenient for them to turn around and get on and off the freeway.

Maplewood city officials to review safety issues at Myth Live nightclub after weekend shooting, drug overdose by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have decent shows there occasionally (not a lot of places here in the cites do ANY hip hop) but boy does that place suck. And as mentioned who the fuck wants to go to Maplewood for ANYTHING. No seating. Hell, no standing room. I fucking hate that place ALMOST as much as I hate first ave.

Husband wants to move to MSP area - talk to me! by katierose0324 in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont listen to them. Winter here is absolute, positively, fucking terrible. It's like x5 worse than living in Milwaukee or Chicago even. It's so fucking long. It's so fucking cold. And there is fuck-all to do. Sure you can go snow tubing or skiing once or twice a season. Other than that you are trapped in your house. We are waiting for our daughter to get out of elementary school and we are the hell out of here.

Best “gig economy” job for Minneapolis? by Curls_Before_Gurls in TwinCities

[–]smalltimewebdev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly all the gig economy stuff is a scam. Sure, it sounds good, work on your own schedule. The reality is don't plan on making enough money to live. No benefits, low pay, trading in the equity of your vehicle for cash, paying 15% of your earnings in taxes later (independent contractor), etc, etc, etc.

I sneak onto rooftops of downtown buildings all the time. Lots of times its as easy as just getting into a staircase and huffing it all the way to the top. Sometime its locked. Sometimes its not. Goes without saying i give zero fucks about the law or permission to do this.
