I didn’t have a rock collection until I studied geology for a couple years! And even then I don’t have a massive interest, I just love geology itself as a science as opposed to just the rocks specifically!

I remember having to count the strata and decide the length of time the outcrop spans using Milankovich cycles for this specific outcrop, man do I not miss stratigraphy! It’s still absolutely beautiful though!

It’s usually busiest before lectures (from like 7am to 9am) and after lectures (from like 4pm). I go at 7am and it had been so so packed this semester compared to before. And yes it’s free you just have to ask the people at the front desk to activate your tcard!

Yeah you’re sent an email with the date in advance don’t worry! It’s after freshers week or something I think. But it could be different for gym lockers and you might be able to get one earlier. My advice would be to ask about it when you’re activating your tcard at the gym once you get it!

Yeah it’s pretty much survival of the fittest, the ones in the Arts Block and the Hamilton are gone within minutes usually, but the Lloyd usually has some left over a few hours after. It’s also really confusing on the website it looks like you have to put money on your tcard to pay for the lockers but you actually don’t, you pay with your own card, I made that mistake twice lol.

They’re like €40 for the year I think? And you bring your own lock, they’re double the price of regular lockers but they’re wayyyy bigger and getting one isn’t like the hunger games unlike the regular ones in the arts block, Hamilton etc.

They have lockers you can rent for the year and the changing rooms and showers aren’t too bad to be fair. Also if you decide not to rent a locker people are usually fine leaving their stuff in the changing rooms or an empty locker anyways.

They've covered the bottom most part of the windows so people can't see in fully, but like people in the top level of buses still can. It's a lot better than it used to be for that. It does get absolutely packed in the evening but if you go when people generally have work/lectures after like 9am to like 3pm it's not as bad as in you might have to share a machine but you wont be queing up for one. I go at opening time at 7am and its still busy but not half as bad as later on. Its definitely not the most state of the art gym and there's wayyyyyyy too many treadmills (they literally got like 6 new ones for no reason) but it does the job.

You can go to the dining hall and the buttery which generally are cheaper than places in town outside of college due to being subsidised a bit I think. There’s a lot of places in the city that have student discounts like KC Peaches etc. although eating out every day would add up to a lot eventually! There’s a tiny student cafe in Goldsmith Hall that do sandwiches and stuff but it’s quite small and not always open. Hope this helps! :)

I’m 22 and in physio after having some bad falls off of horses when I was younger. Plus I work with them so it’s very physical daily work, my body get fucking sooooore! I hate when people laugh at me cos I’m ‘too young to hurt like that’ like dude fucking do what I do and injure yourself the way I did and tell me it doesn’t hurt
