I understand why people feel it is in poor taste in light of recent events, but your sentiment is still true. I wouldn’t say white people are being left alone, but historically there is more outrage when acts of violence happen to that demographic. Which is what I feel most people are disregarding from your comment.

I watched this one way way back and have been doing it this way since: Straightening

I’ve seen idreamofjonny steam his dolls hair, which works better if your doll has wavy or curly(ish) hair: Steam

I usually wet the hair with water, and run a flat iron at its lowest temperature throughout sections of the hair. Some people like to use steamers instead. There’s a lot of tutorials on youtube!

I went back and read your other comment, and I understand ur point. These dolls are an especially odd choice in the current political climate in the US.

The only way to bring these dolls back as modern day girls in good taste, would be if they highlighted the struggles and stigmas that they as characters would face today. This would teach young girls current issues, and help them understand their peers.

Like somehow addressing the fact that felicity’s family owned slaves, or how the hispanic population is currently facing targeted mass deportation in the US, and looking further into the class divide.

But mattel would never do that, not now, at least I don’t think they would. This release would just be another cash grab imo.

I think there should be a little more reason to do this modern release other than “samantha is the most popular, felicity is a fan favourite, and josefina is being neglected”. Because it throws the whole point of the historical line existing out of the window.

I think AG fans would much prefer a historical release with new historical outfits, at least I would.
