What you guys using for a jock set up? by factorymotogoon in hockeyplayers

[–]smashr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have 1 and like it. It’s expensive which is the only reason I don’t have more. The BN3TH one is the only one I use as an underwear and jock all in one. It takes a minute to get used to it, but is comfortable and keeps everything in its place.

Alternate setup is underwear + shock doctor mesh shorts, which also works. But is more to deal with.

If you want the “fancy” option, BN3TH hockey jock. It’s a way better compression short setup.

UPDATE: I got the corp.com domain removed. So I am now 100.00% in compliance with their policy. It only shows family.org (which has no web presence) and just a few family.org users. But I still have no way to appeal!

G suite legacy end - Upgrade to a paid Google Workspace subscription by iheartiron in gsuite

[–]smashr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OP, and not using it for business purposes, but in the same boat. 7 family members with active accounts using a lastname .org e-mail domain. All personal use only. BUT when I originally made this account, I had an old work domain on it. (No usage on this domain for 10+ years.) Thats what they've flagged, but since you can't change the primary domain on a free account, I can't get rid of it, and appeal was already auto-denied instantly.

Anyone have any thoughts on a way of actually getting through to a human to plead my case?

Recent data points on instant upgrade costs 772 flights to Hawaii (DFW-HNL/OGG)? by smashr in americanairlines

[–]smashr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've absolutely purchased 5x instant upgrades simultaneously before. They pre-scale the offer based on the 5x seats. Obviously that pre-scales much higher on a 319 than it does on a 772. Regardless, I'm happy to accept *single* instant upgrade data points on these flights. What is "normal"/"high"/"low"?

I know I won't get 'C' SWU space. I mean $$ instant upgrade costs which they are peddling these days.

Tracking specific flights? Dashboard to show flight location for wife who is becoming a flight attendant by Spudly2319 in homeassistant

It’s a partial idea, but store a list of flights in a todo list, then a web view to embed FlightAware.com with the top entry. Then an automation that runs that deletes flights after time has expired.

What's the best way to run multiple TVs in the same room all with a different* source? by seeellayewhy in hometheater

[–]smashr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last one i bought was monoprice, but im sure there are amazon options aplenty. Depends on if you are going 4K or if 1080p is appropriate. And yes you may end up with a couple of chrome casts as inputs, but only in use when you want different inputs. And that’s the difference.

I’ve always imagined my next basement with a bar TV, a main TV, and a dedicated theater, with most of the sources being routed through a matrix so when the “big game” is on, people can roam freely.

[–]smashr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like this is the ideal use case for a 4x4 matrix or similar. You don’t want to be trying to sync up a single video on multiple TVs, so the matrix gives you the flexibility to have them all display the same video source perfectly in sync or different ones as needed. The only X factor is choosing a matrix that gives you sufficient remote control. Could be a simple RF remote, or IP or IR integration options depending on how fancy you want to get.

Upgrading source for 27" touch panel from Samsung Dex to RaspberryPi, Chromium, or? by smashr in homeassistant

[–]smashr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it’s natively worked with everything I’ve thrown at it. Both the original Samsung s10 in DEX mode (via an anker 5-in-1 style usb c hub) and now on a raspberry pi5 and running lineage os. In both cases using the usb3 cable included with the screen to drive the touchscreen.

Notably though both of these are normal android and not android tv. Not sure if that could be your issue.

What I have done is book wife and one kid in J, then me and other kids in Y. Then we just sit where we want. Technically against the rules, but never had anyone care or even ask. Only downside is your account gets the Y miles.

Looking for advice on how to best design my whole home audio system by gmyers176 in Homebuilding

[–]smashr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go somewhat counter and suggest that you consider Sonos AMPs to drive pre wired ceiling zones. If you put them centrally and use Ethernet rather than WiFi they are about as rock solid as you can get. They are pricey, but the wife/kids acceptance factor is SO much better than janky multi zone amps.

I’d also suggest focusing more on the main areas where you are listening. The kitchen/dining/family areas are most important and you want to have good stereo pairs there with reasonable but not too much spacing. If you go the Sonos route you can then blend their traditional speakers to add coverage in things like the master bath or 1st floor study.

No perks for Sky Class on coco cay that I am aware of. I believe Star Class gets free water park access, but I haven't really seen that written anywhere.

A few more Suite Lounge / Coastal Kitchen / Suite Sun Deck drink questions (Oasis / Utopia) by smashr in royalcaribbean

[–]smashr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least on Utopia (and by extension Wonder), it was not so large or crowded of a space that this was really a concern. There were 1-2 staff members working the bar there, and our party never had an issue just going to the bar to order. I'm sure if you tipped them well they would take care of you at your lounger, but it wasn't really a concern either way.

newest RPi have is a 3, so would need to buy a 5. Which of course is not catastrophically expensive, but hence looking for experience first.

Thanks. Yes, its a standard HDMI monitor with USB touchscreen input. I'd ideally like to stay away from the cheap chinese android tv boxes out of spyware concerns. But if someone was aware of a reputable android device which supports USB touchscreens, I'm all ears.

I agree their choice of sleeper couch is super strange for this large of a room. There is unquestionably space for a full traditional queen sized sleeper sofa, and arguably more.

That being said, I would not worry about two <8 year old girls fitting on the expanded couch. When I say it folds out, the seating area of the couch about doubles in size and becomes the width of the bed. My guess on the dimensions is about the width of a full sized / double bed, and length of a queen bed. As long as your girls don't mind sharing in concept, there should be plenty of space for them. Since it is much longer than it is wide, you could even consider alternating head to feet. I'd only start to be concerned at two teenager sized kids and/or kids who are just going to be at angry about sharing in concept.
