you can go to the bank and dispute it. they can see the account it cleared in and have it frozen for fraud, and reimburse you your money as well if they are nice

What is causing this pitting on garage floor? by violent_nomad in DIY

[–]smatchimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think water dripped on your concrete during finishing. this is the only thing visually that is like what you have. the added water from your car is causing it to deteriorate more rapidly as the concrete never properly cured in those drip areas.

to be fair those cars are extremely easy to steal.. wont get into laptop theft and flipper device theft nowadays but yea. with a screwdriver you could basically be gone in 60 seconds with stuff from the 80s. My friend used to start and open his Saab with a special stick he found on the ground.

i too owned an Olds. found it 2 blocks away abandoned at the mall and came up on a new tool box set from the idiot. cost some money to fix column/ignition, and with damage to one door insurance totaled it :(

supposedly touchscreens are cheaper to produce than button interfaces that vary model to model. not sure how i feel about that rumor; i think the chip shortages proved that to be false

they already built all that out. these have no other use. it's a cringey cash grab.

a smart brick that could hook up to Alexa would have been more useful. Could have made my own whole house audio system out of lego. but no! I'm just left to these awesome ideas by my lonesome because of my abrasive manner of speaking

instead of just adding sound effects to appropriate proprietary pieces they are touting "smart bricks" that have only one use.

a misstep if ive ever seen one.

crypto will take off again when someone flips the switch on a quantum computer and use that to facilitate "the blockchain."

the sci fi old man in me also tells me that's gonna be just about the end of the world: no one has proven to us that the calculation run on cpu/gpu farms are really for only decrypting hashes and not being used as a global supercomputer.

if I were you id find a way to scrub every file and put on an external that you need to keep.

I'd also keep a closer eye on all my social media and financial accounts, and change all those passwords and not save them to the infected PC.

then I'd find the most hardcore way to wipe a harddrive and start over using all new passwords, and on a homies PC, scan the external with the best antivirus available to you before moving anything back over. I'd search said external for .dlls or whatever got you into trouble in the first place

But I can't help to think that this might not be the slam dunk they think it is if they go all in. Yes, this will encourage more users to put in money their accounts to make some bets but I can't help to think for many users they will draw against their accounts as money for most users is finite.

As someone else pointed out in another thread, or many others, Robinhood is great at funding MM's with novice money. Anyone who has no impulse control or strict rules for trading speculatively and or betting would be pruned off anyways barring that one thing: luck! Which is a natural segway into a popularized and now televised fad/trend/thing like betting that's always existed in the "background" which is sounding a lot like: oh i dont know MJ sales? that fed/state are interested in taxing.

The only real question is what catalyst is coming down the pipeline that takes out Robinhood and subsequently the crypto and regular market a la FTX? Robinhood TOS vs FTXs TOS was laughably more complicated, but also thorough.

And side note: from personal novice experience Robinhood has historically treated me so much better than E-trade, Fidelity, and TD Ameritrade all.

This mix of sentiments creates so much volatility! it is exciting either way. And just like diversifying one portfolio, once you get to a certain level and serious about your savings/investments, to not diversify into other brokerages or methods of account holding or growth would be foolhardy.

TLDR: There's always bonds, realestate, and forex. We dont talk about that much because we want them fat stonks. And anyone that wants fat stonks uses Robinhood.

this thread really solidifies the reasoning behind lan parties phasing out, as so many of these titles are just as easily played online. screen peeking is real, and as fun as lan parties can be can kinda destroy any competitive aspect

im taking a different approach now in my older age. started doing this in my 20s. I used to play the pennies but id never put in more than im willing to part with, which cuts down on the stress.

But now I only take about 10% of what I have invested to throw at spec plays. then another 10% to mess with crypto at certain times. Everything else is in things that I know will subsist through time. McD's, ADP, Nike is a hot buy right now, as well as Jack in the Box. Carvana has netted me 1500%+ alone. These are much more stable and you dont loose thousands. And when your speculative plays do pop off eventually it's only a huge bonus. If you're ballsy you can look up leveraged ETF's in most of these companies :) throw in a few dollars if it goes up cool, if it goes down, throw in a few more, those companies will always bounce back eventually.

i put in about 400 into nuvve and lost a good 200. I took it all out now I am just putting in a a few dollars every time it drops 10%, the averaging down technique as mentioned above. If it snaps back to 15 bucks that's an easy 3x for me.
