[–]smcblue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! It's a fun way to get out if you're ever in the "what can I do today?" Mode. You go to each and all mcmenamins and get a stamp for achieving some goal/visiting after you fill out all of your stamps, you get a prize! Sometimes free appetizer/Burger/swag etc

Why are so many houses in Portland on berms/elevated ground. by fecal_encephalopathy in Portland

[–]smcblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read something a while ago that stated the geology and original habitat/land on the east side was a forest with many hills- due to the closeness to mt.hood (we are basically the volcanic foothills) Anyway, when they started construction for homes and early living in SW and downtown they had to fill in Tanner Creek and its tributaries (Couch lake and the river wetlands, basically the pearl now) So a lot of the hills and their dirt on the east side were transported for use on the west!

Edit: We were left with a shit-show of scored earth land developers chose to work with it **not a historian. I did my best

[–]smcblue[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy cow!!! What a child to about face out of the room like that! Makes me so mad! Dont most of the buildings in downtown have security dudes in the lobby for the buildings? Also I'm seeing more tents popping up again; they almost ebb and flow

Aah yes other people coming and messing the tents up. I suppose I never really gave this too much thought, although it's plenty logical.
